Viroxide, information about Jo' and her sons comes from GameSpot's character profile of the Outlaws around the Buzzarton area. Information on Tiny being Meagly's son comes from the Outlaw Wanted Cards first handed out at the Game Developers' Conference 2004.
tentacle_orgy, there's really not that much to tell. The Habitales were going to be a series exploring the everyday lives of the Oddworld Inhabitants (not the company) - replicated eco-systems, biomes, industries and conflicts of interest between the Industrial races and the Native races all trying to control the fate of nature and natural resources.
Oddworld: Hand Of Odd was going to be the first in the series, a simple real-time strategy, but without the bars, menus, pointers and tables OWI always try to minimise in their games. It allows the player to take control of one of three factions, adapt and make use of the land, and loosly follow the story of three central characters caught up in the conflict. One idea for the game was going to be that it took place in Oddworld's past so you could have Meeches running about. Online play and downloadable units were also planned.
The Fearietales is quite the opposite, exploring the after-lives of Oddworld's stinky dead guys. This horror-genre game explores … actually, I forget. Somebody with the PC manual for Abe's Exoddus might want to just quote what it says in there.
EDIT: biggy bro slig, firstly no, we do not, and secondly, you mean a species name? Yes, they're Outlaws. Believe me, I'd love OWI to change this. You mean specific names for each character? Maybe. Bosses obviously have names, and we have examples of Minion names. They're not mass-produced, nameless workers like Sligs, so their parents may name their children.
