Post Tangent Normal Maps

hey grieva, i checked out the help menu that comes with maya and it does have a lot of help for fixing the problem of flipped mirror'd normal maps.

If you just search tangent normals in the help menu it'll show you what to do (i couldn't get it going for the life of me by the way but it does seem more than doable)

But yeah long story short I'd stick with the re-unwrap anyway :P

Idea TexturesTexturesTexturesTexturesTextures

Hey just a quick update party people,

I've been looking around for some code to create some Shaders that can really create a Oddworld feel. Although i can't code my own shader yet I've found many tutorials about baking different types of lighting maps into the characters texture from high resolution models to low resolution models.

At the moment Abe has a Diffuse map (colour) a baked specular map (shinyness) a baked ambient occlusion map (awesome definition in the edges) and a dynamic normal map.

So I'm going rather texture crazy, playing Uncharted 2 gave me a boost of enthusiasm so Abe is going to kick arse when he's done.

Tl;dr I've made the textures awesome for everything everywhere.

Talk to you soon

That'd be a rather chilling logo for the actual game. Seeing that glowing in the shawdows would certainly put RuptureFarms in a very dark light.

Hello Oddworld Forum goers,

Hope you all had a Happy New Year and Christmas!

Sorry for the lack of words lately Just been taking care of a lot of life bullshit so ignore all of that.

I'd just like to let you all know that i'm back on the bandwagon 100% so Abe should be done in no time (Animation/texture wise).

I'll also let you know that there is a lot of content we haven't shown you just because we want to release large chunky updates rather than small cute updates just to improve workflow. So stay tuned for a Chunky Update.

We still value your input and criticisms so you'll be hearing from us ASAP with the Chunky Update.

<3 your friendly neighborhood 3D animator

I just had a ook at wha tthe Unity engine can do...and let me say that would look fantastic for an Indie game.
By the by cool stuff, keep at it.

Thank you Jacker300!

I do think that Griever M3n and me are inspired enough to bring it to a good end, whether it takes 6 months or 2 years (hope not hehe) We just have our usual day-to-day business but every little bit of spare time is dedicated to our 3D project :-)

This looks excellent. I'm really looking forward to playing this when it's done because you've obviously put a lot of effort into it and it seems well-organized. I wish you the best of luck buddy (and everyone working on the project)

Hey jacker300! glad to hear that :-) O man is it down?
Eam tell you what, I don't have access to it now, but its the first thing in the morning i'm going to do for yah Will update when I posted it.

Edit, just for you, uploading the windows version to rapidshare now (hope you use Windows). Will update it on my own domain tomorrow but just a quick "fix" for now. Sorry for any Mac users but I really have to go now. (Girlfriend has to get up at 7am tomorrow.)

Link is here: http://rapidshare.com/files/33338763...IN_v1.zip.html , please mind, 10x download limit and it sucks anyway but it should be enough for the night.

Another question,
Does anyone know why I can't edit the opening post? Is there like a edit limit on these forums? (Ashamed, 5 1/2 year here and still don't know that haha)

We could use some mirror addresses for this. Surely there are some other services which offer free downloads without locking out users?

Contacted Splat to ask about the editing, turns out there is indeed an edit limit. No problem, He will edit is for me when we hit major updates.
The scrab demo is being uploaded to the new domain as I speak so it should be up quite soon. I will post them in this post and will edit the opening post another time soon.
