Contrary to popular belief I choose those best suited for the specific job, whether or not they are on good terms with me.
A (fairly) recent example is that of Havoc. I originally thought him to be quite the prick and disliked him thoroughly - He would loudly voice his displeasure of me many times (it should be noted that I no longer harbour such animosity towards him - I think he's a pretty cool guy, tigers and all

). But I still appointed him a Moderator. The same could be said for T-nex who was also critical of my decisions, was throughout her entire tenure as RPG Moderator, and still has been on MSN conversations post-OWF

Still, I thought she was a great person.
At the moment, the same could be said for Max, Havoc (
still!), and Splat who are still fairly critical of my ideas and decisions. It makes for a good decision making process when you are forced to look at other peoples ideas.
So all in all, the Mod-team are
not the brown-nosing suck-ups you think they are.
Oh, and I was going to mention more on the Hobo-Moderator line of thought, but Splat summed it up perfectly.
