I like the samdakons idea exept mabey it could look like wireframe it would be much easier to program (I think I don't know anything) mabey the name could do to change.

If we bought some middle-ware it would be even more easy to program.
And if you want to know how much the middle-ware OI used costs (Netimmerse by NDL), it's only $250,000.
Me thinks asking Drew to do it would be a good/cheap idea!

Rettick, those are some good ideas. I never thought about them not having eyes, but you are right. The echolocation idea would really suit the character well. Also, I think that if the idea is used, that the flight thing should be taken out of my idea as it doesn't really fit the character. I like the name samdokons.

Also, if we were to use meeches, then wouldn't future Oddworld games have new information that would make the meech character in this game look and behave completely inaccurately? I think it would be better to use a completely made-up creature (samdokons or something else) as the main character.

Here's a level:

Dril's Carbon Mine.

A mine set underneath the western coast of Mudos, mudokon workers employed here dig deep into the earth to find raw carbon for fuel. Since the mine has been opperating so long, the caverns are very unstable and falling rocks and even cave-ins are common. The above-ground entrance is heavily guarded, but the dense vegetation gives you good cover. There is even an abandoned town above ground, but all that remains are some rusty I-beams in a house-like pattern. I was thinking when abe got close to the mine entrance and ran out of cover, he could throw a rock at the I-beams and all the sligs would go "What?!" and look over there for five seconds, giving Abe the chance to sneek by. Inside the mine, there is little security, but only because of the extreme work conditions. Abe must manuever through falling rocks, lava, and poisonous water. As an added challenge, to treat the carbon, the facility sprays it with a cyanide-like toxin and then dumps it into the river, which has turned black. To stop this, Abe must posess the head glukkon and have him shut off the power to the cyanide vats, and only the cyanide vats, because if he turns of the power, to, say, the mining tunnel, the equiptment that holds the tunnel up will collapse, killing the miners. After all the miners are rescued, Abe takes a few of the natives to a nearby volcano and chants and... viola! The volcano slowly pumps lava into the bottom of the mine, destroying the mine. Of course, they have time to get out because you don't want to kill them, but they are left with a smoldering hole.


So there ya go.

Look, 101, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting a little sick of you in the Rex's Oddysee topics. If you can't be bothered to actually read the topics and find out what this is all about, then get out, will you? If you had read the topic, then you'd know that we were never really planning to produce this ourselves, we were partly hoping [beyond hope] that the ideas would be taken up by OWI, and partly just using it as an outlet for our creativity. we need technology well not need or mabey even want well I'm not a leader so I have no say in this anyway but it seems like all anyone has come up with is areas and the samdokons which I think don't even have a shape. anyway how about if there were caves there could be drillers they would be for munch to use and they wouldn't be used for much besides destroying pillars and eventually caving in the caves you would have to do that somewhere near the end of each level or munch wouldn't even be in some levels an apear in machine form.

Well finally i have updated both my major websites!

Go here for the Oddworld Awards winners and more.

Yep, all the people involved with Oddball Inhabitants or Oddworld: Rex's Oddysee go there and join. There you will find that i have set it up to acompany all of out needs.

When you join you must all read the page entitled 'Rules'. You must do this to know what not to do, what to do, what must happen etc.

Remember this website is like the Oddworld Forums only its for all the Oddworld: Rex's Oddysee needs and demands.

Also note that the names of Leaders and Leads have changed.

Leaders are now called Executives, and Leads are now called Junior Executives. These names are not shhown when at the website, but they are implied. On the Oddball Inhabitants website i am called Alcar and my position is a Manager, just forget the manager part and you'll be ok.

Also don't forget about the Oddworld Forums, the Oddball Inhabitants Forums is mainly for Oddworld: Rex's Oddysee related stuff.

Also on the Oddball Inhabitants website, i am named Alcar, which is the same as my Oddworld Forums name. If you join and are with the Oddworld Forums please use your Oddworld Forums name.

Well not many people yet have joined, and yet alot of people posted a design region here.

For all the people who don't know yet, the Oddball Inhabtants website is up and running.

Please read my previous post for alot of extra information.

Also, the reason i made another site for it, is that already Rex's Oddysee has taken up nearly 4 pages, and there are still another 3 topics to do something about it.

So in the event of either clogging up the fan corner, there were 2 choices.

1. Create another board called 'Oddworld: Rex's Oddysee'.

2. Create a new website for everything to be placed on.

I chose number 2 because i don't think number 1 would ever happen
