Tis' one reason why I like Nicktoons TV. Much less of the old stuff. But afternoon, if I want, I can watch Rocko, Real Monsters, or the Angry Beavers with no real commercials. There's some filler crap, but that's about it. The actually good shows like Zim and Action League (The actual show had some uber nice stuff in it) now have a nice, set, schedule. Very little Spongebob or Rugrats, very very little. And the Rugrats they show are pretty much all of the older episodes.

My only problem with the channel is that the filler moves in waves. When it first came out (2 summers ago?) there were like, 10 music videos they showed inbetween shows/on comercial breaks. Then, those all got replaced by a bunch of inside interview stuff about the studios, which were actually pretty cool. Now it's just a bunch of shorts. Which actually gave me one of the most shocking moments of my life.

There's a small series about this chef guy. Who's French, and constantly gets maimed. I was watching, barely paying attention, actually understanding some of the small bits of French inbetween grable and mumbling. I actually learned something in school, and recognized it outside of. I'm not sure whether to be shocked or impressed with myself.

Rugrats was a pretty good show in its younger years, but a bit before that stupid Dil came along
Finally someone who shares the same viewpoint as me. Now I don't watch any cartoons, but back in the day I told everyone this and they said "Oh it's still funny" but it wasn't! It was absolute shit!
And that Invader Zim everyone talks about. I watched the first five minutes of one episode and changed the channel because it's shit as well. All cartoons are shit now. Shit, shit, shit.

Shit.

Ugh...rugrats!
*barfs*

Really, I just hate nickelodeon altogether. The only show I watch is SpongeBob when I'm bored, and in between commercials they have this stupid You Pick Live with annoying children and even more annoying adults. Blah!

Oy...I like your taste in cartoons, Majic. I wish I had nicktoons tv...Angry Beavers is one of my favorite cartoons.

Yeah.

'Invader Zim' is amazing!! I've only seen a few episodes, because CITV don't broadcast it anymore, so i'm looking for the Dvd's...and failing miserably.

Yes. I got the first season DVD at Gamestop, the second one is coming out in August. Check out a local store that sells anime DVDs, it'll be hidden among them somewhere. I found mine inbetween Love Hina and Beserker.

I do wish however that they'd release all the episodes, there's only nine episodes on the first DVD and the first season is really about 20 episodes. The next DVD still has nine episodes but it's season two, so they've skipped out on about eleven episodes between DVDs. Altogether about 62 episodes were planned, Nickelodeon ripped it off the air after 9/11 (because they thought an alien trying to destroy earth was to terroist-ish) and they had only aired about 30-40 episodes out of the 60. The remaining unaired episodes can be found on WinMX, Kazaa, and the like. Good luck, Jacob

I literally missed all of Invader Zim. I saw a few episodes, and the one where Zim steals everyone's organs. That was funny, he replaces them with clocks and things, even a cat.

ANYWAY. I want...no, scratch that. I NEED to see Venom and Carnage on the big screen. I know someone who's doing a series of comics called "Venom." The one in that comic is awesome, and I think they should use that design. I wonder who would play Eddie Brock and that other guy who became Carnage...
And I hope for humanity's sake that they don't just spraypaint the origonal Green Goblin's costume orange and call it "Hob Goblin," though I'm glad they didn't use the "hood and purple suit" look.

Yes, Venom and Carnage are the ultimate bad guys, they deserve a movie. Or two. But if they actually make one with them, I hope Eddie Brock won't still be the whiny bastard... He should be more of a Dr. Jekyll kind of guy.
Note: I've only read one Spider-man comic book, so I really don't know much about what the characters are like now.

Doug Tennapel (created Earthworm Jim, the Neverhood), is supposed to be doing a show for Nick, based on the Gear comics. I'm hoping it does good, but the plain and simple truth of the matter is, that Nicks fan-base is now mostly media saturated morons and stupid children, whom have had pop music and Hillary Duff cliche horseshit movies and shows shoved down their unsuspecting throats, who wouldn't know a good TV show if it assaulted them with a golf club. Don't get me wrong, I'll watch Nick every now and again, but I'm starting to get sickened by what I'm seeing 23 hours a day on my picture box.

Yes, it's called Catscratch and they just completed the pilot.

Earthworm Jim... echh. They could have done so much better with that show. The only good part was the theme song, which was one of the funniest cartoon theme songs I've ever heard. The game was awesome, they need to bring it back for the X Box.

Old Nickelodeon was awesome. They had stuff like Pete and Pete, the original All That (before it got taken over by a bunch of high-voiced pubescent no-talent teenagers and Britney Spears' little sister), and a lot of other stuff. Since then it's been on a general downward spiral, staying afloat with a few lack-luster movies and, once in a while, a surprisingly good cartoon that's either cancelled before its time (Invader Zim) or completely ruined by changes made for some inexplicable reason.

What's Neverhood? What's Catscratch? Post some l1nk4g3z, j0.

You know what is really needed? A good animated science fiction or fantasy for the big screen. So far the only things I've seen that really fit into that category are Titan A.E., which was great when first I saw it because I was a little kid, and the Pokemon movies, which I have to admit are technically sci-fi/fantasy in a very loose sense. Is this the best the world of animation has to offer to the silver screen? I hope not.

I just saw spiderman 2 today, and Doc Ock was awesome. I really want to see the village. It's a movie where they don't give away the plot in the previews, and it is so mysterious looking.

Neverhood? I recall playing a demo of that, off some weird demo disk. You ran around on a ship or something with some pointless coins to toss around, and you went through portals or something for the games. Really, really weird. Or maybe I'm just remembering a mixture of things.

What? The Neverhood is a big puzzle game made entirely from claymation. Whatever you saw was much different.

No, no. It was one of the demos on the disk. The way you selected the emos was the weird space thing. It was, very very strange. The Neverhood was actually a somewhat neat game, if I remember, having a unique look to it. But the demo only went through like the first set of rooms, or until you walk outside. or... something. I don't know if the demo was actually a selection from the game, as it could always be something like the Half-Life demo was.

The Neverhood doesn't take place in space nor does it involve coins. You might be thinking of Skullmonkeys which is the sequel to the Neverhood and was much more of an adventure game than a puzzle, it involved shooting, jumping, and collecting orange clay-balls.

Good ole' Tennapel. I've liked his stuff ever since I played Earth Worm Jim way back on the Sega Genesis.

His comics are great too; the art is really exceptional. Not only that, his view on life is completely different than that of most "indie comic" artists. It's refreshing to read a right wing skewed plot instead of the typical "goth" story.

Even if you disagree with the overall message (like in 'Creature Tech') it's still nice to read.

One movie I really enjoyed was Mimic. It was not, by any account, the best science-fiction flick, but there were three main things that really tickled my fancy: 1) the overall darkness of the movie, 2) the autistic kid who could look at a shoe and instantly know its size and could imitate the bug clicking noise, and 3) the part where the two little street urchins get eaten. I mean, how many movies have you seen where the little kids get eaten, and don't survive just by pluck? I tell you, I can't think of any.

I didn't like that movie. I saw it on Sci Fi. It was one of those generic films made for the hell of it by some small-time studio. The acting sucked, and the creature effects were worse than the ones in Spider-Island.

Saw "I, Robot" and it was actually good. Better than SpiderMan in my Summer Movie Rating.

I thought it was going to be simple action movie, but it had an actual plot. Sure...it had a few action sequences and noticable Bullet-Timey-ness at a couple parts, but it was very enjoyable.

8 out of 10
