as i have seen it the ender is dark with a night filled with stars and pilons,also you can track strongholds in the future with the eye of ender that is used to repair the portals,it is made from the blazes rods blaze powder and an ender pearl

seems that notch removed the sky dimension

and he also renamed the ender to the end....

Sunrise was always in the east. He made the maps render on their side, with east at the top.

Notch is also making the sun and moon circular. The guy has lost it.

they could :/ i dont understand why notch abandoned the sky dimension,i really wanted to play in the sky dimension but it aint gonna happen as it seems

Mocked up in 60 seconds by someone with no artistic skill, but done with the quality of the picture posted by Ench, surely this could work.

(Note the 'official' new moon doesn't disappear but just turns very dark blue, which is what I would have done with this if I wasn't so lazy.)

edit:seems that somebody did the same thing as you splat,they gave a link to notch about the square moon phases and it seems that the round moon is winning :/

edit: seems that the new dragon mob can now destroy blocks when it passes trough them

I played a bit of 1.9pre4 and I quite liked the round sun. I think the square moon looked better, though.

In pre4 I played around with enchantments and ender pearls before using eyes of ender to locate a stronghold. I then entered The End. The End is fucking freaky. It's hard to fight the endermen without aggravating more. Eventually you will get mobbed to death unless you're a cheater like me and use golden apples, strength potions and enchanted diamond equipment. I decided I'd try fighting with nothing more that an iron sword once I tired of enderman slaying and was promptly killed.

Also, this was what the stronghold I found looked like.

Fighting Cave Spiders and Silverfish at the same time is not fun.

For some reason the sun is still square for me. :/

I really want to visit the End, but I'll probably wait until the full release because there might be more things to generate. I don't want to waste a portal (which I haven't even found yet) on a boring Enderman-filled wasteland. I'm in the process of moving from the house I've had since last December to a 1.9 area, though, and 1.9 will probably be out by the time I've built myself a proper base.

How can you tell what material enchanted tools are made from without looking at the tooltip?

You can use Eye of Ender to find them. You can simply throw them and they point the way.
