I'd like to say that based upon my experiences watching the season 3 premiere of Game of Thrones and the Season 3 finale of Walking Dead I feel exactly as I did about the books at this stage: Walking Dead is a poorly written adolescent fantasy where you don't care about a single character (except maybe Carl) and instead of progressing the show continually sautees in its own juices at just how fucking clever it is for being so edgy and grim. The episode was interrupted right before the end just so that the network could draw it out a little more as some people from the show verbally fellated it while clips of people killing zombies with GOD DAMN CG BLOOD effects.
GoT on the other hand, well, season 3 is supposed to be about half of book 3, Storm of Swords. They packed so much into the opening episode without killing someone off, reverting to that NOW CUTAWAY TO LOUD SEX SCENE habit or giving away too too much of the plot to those unfamiliar. And no CG blood whatsoever.
