It's still in the video settings, and you should be able to toggle it in-game with F while in debug mode (F3).

Just to give some more info on what exactly we're going to do when we get there; the current plan is to (assuming we find a decent patch of land) set up whereever we end up. That means that if we end up on top of a mountain, we'll be building a mountain town. If we end up in a swamp we'll have to deal with the water, etc.

The idea for Exoddus is to create a big city that is surrounded by city walls and a moat. As such, we kind of want to avoid everyone running off in different directions the second we get there. The first order of business will be to build a temporary shelter for everyone to sleep and hide from the bad guys. During the day we'll start construction on the city's main building, or City Hall, however you want to call it. City Hall will most likely be build on top and around the portal we came out of. We don't have a design for the building right now, so feel free to make suggestions. Once a design is agreed upon, listen closely to whoever is leading the build to know what you can do to help.

After the main building is pretty much done we (we being the admins; me, Dripik, Dark and Max) are going to set out plots of land around it and assign them to people. Within this plot of land you can build whatever you want, as long as it stays within the boundries of your plot. If you want to build tunnels or bridges to other buildings, please do so with permission from the owner of said building.

Right now we don't have a design requirement set in mind, meaning the building doesn't have to follow a certain style or material. This may change however.

Lastly, when all the plots have been assigned we'll draw a perimeter where the city wall is going to be.

The entire construction of our Exoddus settlement should keep us occupied for a few weeks and after that everyone is obviously free to go about their way in our new found lands. The important thing is that our first build is a joint venture. We were pretty isolated most of the time around Genesis and we want to avoid that happening again this time.

Havoc told me I put a dot at the end of server IP. Thats why i couldn't connect.

Yet again i've made a fool out of my self on the forums -_-

PASSIVE MOBS ARE FINITE: As I said in the Minecraft topic, passive mobs spawn with newly-explored chunks and will no longer re-spawn after being killed, with the exception of chickens, I think. This will be fixed in 1.9 with passive mob breeding. So be VERY careful what you kill when you reach our new settlement.

Seems 1.8 is a bit broken in that regard (especially since only 3 strongholds can be spawned per map - Something that will change to infinite in 1.9). It seems snow biomes no longer exist. I suggest that we make a new world when 1.9 comes and move all our stuff to it using WorldEdit or MC Edit or something, setting Exoddus as our new spawn and have the main areas of the 1.7 Genesis world placed somewhere not too far away (with the exception of the old wilderness).

Also, that explains why I couldn't find any cows. Man, I should have made some sheers instead of killing all those sheep. Good thing fish are still infinite.

Has this actually been confirmed by anyone on Mojang? Because I see a lot of people bitching about it but I see just as many people report that animals do respawn. They even respawned (be it more rarely) around Genesis so this can't be entirely true.

I'm getting on the server now, and probably will stay on until The Journey.

The server just crashed for me, and won't let me back. Anyone else having problems?

This would happen just when I've moving all my diamond, obsidian, lapis and moss stone to a different chest, just to panic me.

EDIT: Never mind, back now.

EDIT 2: Aaaand it's gone again. Is it going to be doing this all night?

Ah, the memory leak bug crash. I keep getting that. Sometimes (but not always), the server doesn't want to communicate afterwards. You have to wait 2 or 3 minutes before you can connect again for some reason.

Maybe it's best to set the time rather than have everybody re-connect all the time, it probably stresses the server out.

Yes indeed, it was very fun - It's cool how we were all looking forward to this for such a long time. I didn't expect it to actually be worth the wait or to generate so much interest - Thanks guys, you all made it what it was!

I only filmed the portal bit and a bit after that though, I hope others filmed a little more than I did.

The next step for Exoddus base is to find out where we're going to build the town hall (possibly on the opposite side of Havoc's bridge - I still think we need to use Dripik's design) and start assigning plots to the desert area surrounding the river.

If you have view distance set to far, change it to normal. I only get the out of memory error when it's set to far.

I've sent in a support ticket about the crashes, I'm not sure if it's server or client related. Maybe they'll know.

Yeah that's probably why, but fortunately while it's a nuisance, it's something that I don't mind living with until it gets fixed. Thanks for the java hint though, maybe I'll try that if it becomes too bad (like it did yesterday until I cleared my cache).
