I can't believe what happened. Though I officially left a few weeks ago, I went here to check on how things were going. I have read "A say day for OWF" and Danny's goodbye message.
And I am plainly shocked.

Anger, hate, distrust. Scattered friendships. Now I know it: the forums are doomed.

Sydney banned??? HOW IS THIS POSSBILE???????? Sydney, who founded and loved the OWF. Sydney, who created the ultimate Oddworld fan community. Sydney, strict, yet friendly. Sydney.

What are the forums without him? What are the forums without those regulars and veterans?

Nothing.

OWF has lost it's thight community feel. Already a few months ago, when it became very crowded. But spammers and flamers never caused trouble too long.

And now this.

The forums serve no purpose anymore now.

Without those veterans, who have witnessed it from the beginning. Without it's founder.

As I cannot decide over this, nor I would ever be able to participate in a discussion without thinking about Sydney or any of the members who left,

I have decided to leave. And I do not intend to come back.

Maybe I will go to the Glass Alyseum. Only time will tell. I am deeply saddened this day had to come. Farewell.

First of all the reason you dont know what happened Cool Paramite is that you did not witness it in person. Many members say oh look what happened to Syd, how can they do that to him, though do they stop to think. I was on oddchat that night when he did what he did, and therefore I realized it first hand what Syd did. Cool Paramite many of us forumers were shocked, but what was done to Syd was in best interest for these forums, he abused his power plain and simple, and before he could do worse what happened to him did. I feel I dont have to go into anymore detail for you.

I would be interested in hearing it, too Al. How do you expect people to make informed decisions if you only give the facts to a select few?

I know it's tempting to side with whoever has the most power, but I have already explained my side of the OddChat events. I admitted that while I may have been too harsh, the members who I banned had been causing havoc on OddChat for a couple of weeks, spewing sexually-slanted insults at whoever was present. I acted on my judgement.

Actually, what i dont get is why doesn't Pilot combine Danny's 'Farewell' and Rach's 'A sad day today' and then class it as important...since i would say it is a turning point (In the forums at least) and a Helluva good read.

The OWF were not the OWF anymore.

I heard about the incident. I don't know exactly what happend and I don't want to.
