But would you play a game of a genre you despise just to experience the story?

The closest you get is probably realistic racing games. I don't think I'd play Gran Turismo if it had an award winning story.

I used to dislike realistic flight and combat simulators. Then I got ARMA2. Now I love every genre

Well, in just about every genre I can think of at least a couple of games I like. I dislike racing games, but I like Micro Machines, Mario Kart and CTR. I dislike FPS's but I like Quake, Unreal, BLACK, Timesplitters and a few others etc.

I dislike flight simulators, but I like some Ace Combat games (Mainly because of the story. They're fun to play). Does that count?

I loved Resident Evil 4 & 5 (yes I loved 5, it was a fun game fuck you guys), so I'm not really worried about 6. Capcom usually pulls through in the gameplay department. Usually.

This is true. I thought it had well-designed levels, though.. The gunplay was really fun, too.

Would've been a lot better if they had simply scrapped Sheva, though.

I'm pretty sure she wouldn't drop guns, but she'd use a fucking H&K Pistol on a boss even though she's equipped with a fucking Magnum.

She was an idiot, but the game is fun nonetheless.

I thought she was okay, but I hated how pathetic she was. She could of at least tried to fire a gun instead of hiding in a fucking bin. Leon could of taught her how to use a gun or something.

I didn't literally mean she'd "drop everything" as in physically drop her guns. I mean she'd be under fire by zombies, but would just run through them just to get more grenades when she had all this other ammo.

Their target audience is one part Dads who want to identify with something their sons enjoy but don't have it in them to actually play a video game, one part general stupids who will watch anything and one part complete fucking tools who see the face tentacles/big axe-wielding zombie/Leon and say "fuck yeah I love President Stevil". And one part me, who saw the newest one and was utterly blown away at the impossible world depicted. And the villain was that fucking computer child from the first movie.

Uhh nope, Retribution. Saw it in the theatre last week. And I don't think you can quantify one as worse than the others. They're all drowning in the same mire of impossible pseudoscience, egregious CG and slowmo, and a bouqet of terrible writing that is dwarfed only by the half assed cast thrust down our throats year after year after year.

They're all telling the same story, all rooted within this fucking retarded mythos and thus one big gestalt slice of downs-syndrome entertaining, lowest-common denominator appealing crap.

But the newest one added another layer to the crap custard. It just couldn't stay away. It was a loud movie. So loud it drowns out all thought and emotion and feeling, so loud it shakes your teeth and whines in your brain saying you paid money for this. This is on you, you putrid motherfucker. Pay witness to Milla Jovovovovishs skintight bodysuit and buckle in. You are not getting this time back.
