c) When you see Scrabs, the camera zooms out loads anyway.
Jenny, they're not changing the gameplay. What's the point of having them appear more anyway, they're both without the behaviour that makes them what they were in the Abe games.
I don't think the Scrab need improvment, It looks really pretty in my opinion. I think the Paramite needs improvement. It could be just the angle though (its mouth looks werid).
I'm happy that OWI is sharing these things with us and being social with the fans instead of keeping to themselves. I think the community always appreciates communication ; )
Taking into consideration the distance the camera is from both the Paramites and Scrabs in-game, these are more than acceptable.
What I'm more concerned about is the environments in which you encounter these fiends. Landscape mapping and textures were absolutely horrendous in the original MO. Flat, cartoony grass patterns and low poly rocks/cliff faces. I'd like to chalk it up to the time period and the limitations of the engine, but plenty of games that came out around that time were able to overcome the horrors of limited poly with high-resolution skins and textures.
Sometimes, MO's levels felt like they were rejected from Banjo Kazooie. They could learn a thing or two from games like Tak, in which they printed pieces of the production art directly onto the models, which looked quite unique. Some improved particle sims would be grand as well; some mist rising from the damp forests or industrial smog and soot clouding the factories.

I bought some powdered water, but didn't know what to add.
I would like to know more about the environments too. The character models for Munch and Stranger are looking fantastic, and the recent images of Stranger HD show some improved foliage. But if the environments on the whole (rocks, platforms and whatnot) still look low-poly, dropping in some nice HD characters is going to make those low-poly scenes look even worse in comparison.
I don't know what is commonplace for HD re-masterings, whether it is typically just the characters that get updated and textures sharpened, or if the levels get improved as well. What I've seen so far of JAWs work looks excellent and I cannot wait to play the HD versions. I just think if all the work went into characters and the environments barely change, then it's kind of a missed opportunity to make the game look even better.
I would prefer HD environment to HD characters. The atmosphere is what gives the game it's odd effect and makes you feel like you're part of it.
That's mostly why I fell in love with Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus. The background art was just amazingly beautiful in Scrabania and Paramonia. <3
I'm going to assume yes. Releasing a demo is a vital part to marketing any game. I might not have played any of the Oddworld games if I hadn't played the AO demo.

That image did come from Alf though, so I'm not sure if the high-res versions are floating around in the public domain.
I can't find the relevant post now, but I remember Max linking the blog of one of JAW's artists, which had high-resolution versions of the promotional images made for GameCityNights. Judging by the URL of that Abe image (linked above), it's probably from the same source.

Absolutely stunning images. A drastic improvement in overall quality from previous models. Thank you, OWI (& JAW), fantastic work! It's uplifting to finally hear from you again.

I wouldn't be so sure. These are after all just digital distribution.
If they get a Steam release (which i'm highly sure they are) They might be some demos.
Depends on how much work they're willing to put in. Considering they're not really doing much with the game engine, it could be prohibitively difficult to reverse-engineer a demo out of it. They could perhaps find the old Xbox demo and release that, but if they were planning on doing that they would probably have already done it.

im personally a bit dissapointed that its gunna be a free patch on steam for the current munch's oddysee, not really a remake in my eyes
You go by the fact that it's a free patch on saying that it's not a remake? How does this work? The game is receiving an overhaul to make it high definition. That's why it's called a HD remake. Be thankful that it is free, that's not something you should be whining about.
