haha, AO and AE just wouldn't work to well in full 3D in my opinion. I mean getting killed in one shot, how would that work? try to circle around a slig without getting shot? Also the flickering bombs would kind of be pointless. idk, just don't think it would work.

2D in my opinion is way better. These are the games I grew up with, and I want them to stay that way.

I'm pretty sure JAW won't change that much with the update, at least I hope. I'm just ready for them to release some screens for it so we can compare them.

I can't wait!

Thank you.
At least someone gets the point of why it shouldn't be full 3D.
A lot of stuff in the original would have to be changed. I don't like that idea since it's a remake. They're not going to change everything around to make it 3D because then it's not really a true remake.

It must be 2D or 2.5D!

I hope you guys are aware that it's already been confirmed as 2.5D. Bickering about 3D is pointless.

I know, I'm just saying that if it was 3D, it wouldn't work.

If OddWorld stays 2D, maybe with a few 3D games, I would be happy.
If only they would make the games like back when they did the first OddWorld in those kind of graphics, but obviously it wouldn't make many sales with how picky gamers today are on graphics.

Who gives a fuck about the dimensions of the game any way. What happened to speculation about game story line and shit, that's at least half way more interesting than pissing about the axis of a camera.

Also, I've played Munch's Oddysee, but it was ages ago that I did. There might have been a secret area. My point was (AO/AE BTW), this version they're making is the original game, so it will have all the original secrets. You can't make some of the 2D secrets 3D without making them obvious. That would defeat the point.

If you don't get it, take a look at RuptureFarms, the the secrets behind the barrels, if it were 3D, you'd be able to see a gap there.
I perfectly get what you're implying which is why I previously pointed out that a 3D version of AO wouldn't just be copypasta of the original game, and it is something I personally want them to release rather than the current HD project. There's a reason why I put "wishful thinking" in the thread title.
Also anything about it "not working" with 3D is bollocks, look at the Munch's Oddysee pre-rendered vids than imaging a game in that style with AO's story.

You know what a remastering is right? Editing the game to make it 3D is not a remastering. Also, MO was always going to be 3D, so they focused on ways to make it work, AO would have to be changed quite a lot and people prefer the 2D of it.
No more arguments about 2D and 3D from now on, there's no point anyway as it's already announced 2.5D. Plus, I've already made my point.

An oddworld movie would be nice. I'd prefer SW, of course, but really all of the games sound like they would be great, provided they stick to the game.

SW would make a great movie. Still, I'd prefer some of the games they're making first though...

I personally would like to see some Oddworld Merchandise after they've released all those games, or after Hand of Odd. (Which ever comes first.)

I'd love a little Abe figure, or Alf. They could do an Alf sitting on the chair with the light and book. That would be so cool.

I think you might be talking about a couple of figurines. Yeah, there are a few pics on TOGG.

I hope they remake those SW Trading Cards. I always wanted to get my hands on those...

I also want to see a few plushies. I know I can make some myself, but i would like to see more professionally made ones.

Well there was a Stranger statue build for OWI's office, but that's as close as it gets to actions figures.

Lorne and Stewart Gilray have both said that announcements are coming at E3. Best guess is that they relate to the Abe game.

However, they said that months ago. The way things have been going for them lately, maybe they've postponed it and not told anyone.

What people were saying about multiplayer in the "What would you ask Lorne?" made me think a little.

Abe HD will be 2.5D, and so is Little Big Planet. LBP works quite well with 2 players so long as they don't go too far away from each other - So here's a stupid, stupid idea. What if in co-operative mode, you could play as Alf as a second player character at the same time as Abe? Maybe there could be level variants for co-operative mode which would differ from single player mode, where both players would be required to solve puzzles together. It'd have to be non-canon to the storyline, though.

Alternatively they could make a separate co-operative series of levels, like Valve did for Portal 2.

I think the separate story line co-op would work better.
If they're sticking to the original, the only characters with actual names would be Abe, Bigface, and Mullock, since all the sligs, mudokons, and glukkons didn't have any identities other than their organic roles, and no other characters were introduced.
Under that logic, Alf as a character simply wouldn't fit into either the single player or Co-Op.
It would have to be an anonymous mudokon, or a glukkon.

Maybe some sort of versus challenge, where one plays as a Glukkon and one as Abe, and Abe has to get through the level while the Glukkon character calls sligs, slogs and bombs down,
sort of like Chopper vs Chopper in GTA IV: The Lost and Damned. ♥
