you can tell this is AE such as when he's in the mudomo vaults if you make a paramite die by throwing meat of an edge he says the same things as if a mudokon died

It's less about the tattoos and more about his personal spiritual development and increased skill through more experience.
Doesn't this answer most of the problems about not being able to and then being able to possess creatures/characters.

This was one of the first posts in this discussion as well :P

Heres a Thought, Mabey Abe couldn't Possess the Scrabs and Paramites beacuse he had never seen them before. Like abe couldn't possess Slogs but now can in MO. If he learns more about them, he can Possess them.

Out of pure interest. Why in AO and AE does abe automatically possess something, whilst in MO you have to control a possesion orb to a certain enemy. I think it would make more sence if in MO he simply possesed the way he did in the preveous games, with the speedy blue stuff and wot-not.

Because in the Abe games, the player only viewed one screen at a time with only a small number of sligs available for possession. In MO the player was placed in a wide, ongoing world with any number of sligs within possessionable distance. There would have been no way for the game to automatically identify precisely which slig the player wanted to possess without some sort of selection mechanic.

Spruce Bringsteen?

Tell me how you would have been able to select which Slig you wanted to posses? It is sometimes critical to be able to posses the big bro Slig that's just a bit further away then only a regular Slig... the Orb was actually a good selection mechanic

What's a bell from the monsaic lines? Also The main reason why he couldn't posses scrabs and paramites in the first game was because the people who designed the game didn't design the levels so that the scrabs and paramites needed to be possesed, not because of any of abes spiritual abbilitys getting stronger. And as for sprooce and the li'l possession orb thingy, that was because the game was in 3-D and it would let people select which enemy they needed to posses.

bells in monsaic lines and the paramonian / scarabanian temples ensured a door was locked untill you got the bell tune from a story stone, it made the levels longer and harder.

MO wasn't that bad, sure i would much rather play 2d abe any day, but sadly the game market revolves around 3d. i can agree about the spruce part, but they had to add something to make it i bit more challenging.

they could of done it better though and not so childish, for example rescuing muds to gain more power to open doors or to chant for longer etc. Spruce was placed too much aswell, they were everywhere and only chalenging in certain places.

as for 3d yerh i suppose they had too, but also there was no oddworld humor as far as i can remember

With Scrabs/Paramites I think he would see something akin to what Daredevil sees, where theres like pulses that you can see and react to.

What I'm saying is, it's impossible to see in 2D. It would just be a single line of vision, which would be useless.
Guys the real question is what does Abe see when he posseses a exploding fart or rather.. what he smells.. lol

Spruce? So Abe's possessing trees now?

Also, how does the invisibility power work on Scrabs and Paramites who have no eyes and sense by vibration and echolocation? Turning invisible would not shield you from either of these as invisibility is just the bending of light around an object.

Should we just assume that because the power of invisibility comes from a mystical source that it renders him invisible not only to the naked eye but the laws of physics aswell?
