Okay, it was a bit of an insensitive joke. Fine. You got me. But to get all offended by the word rape is just silly. There are horrible things that happen everyday in this world. Rape, murder, emo music, etc. Somebody, somewhere, and at some time has been put through the most disturbing things imaginable and it's safe to say that you will probably run into someone who knows a person like this. But is that a reason to censor a joke? I say no. Hell, the only way to stay sane in a world like this is to be able to laugh about the shit that happens. Also, how can you possible hold me responsible for the terrible acts of some disturbed individual? Do you think I really did rape and skin her mother? Do you think I was threatening to rape and skin her mother? No. You don't. At least, if you have any intelligence at all you don't. I knew a guy once who couldn't abide anyone saying the word death because his mother had died. All you had to do was say the word and he would throw a little hissy fit tantrum. I can't be held responsible for your mother dying or for your friend getting HIV. Sorry. If you were offended by the language and you didn't like the tone I was taking then I understand that. And maybe I'm even a little sorry. But don't be offended simply because you know a person who was raped because I will not walk on eggshells around you. Don't be stupid.

And molluck's assistant, I don't know if you've seen any of the pictures of me that are on here but I have a feeling that I could take you. I never actually threaten anyone with physical violence and I'm not being vain. You just made a claim that is fairly farfetched is all.

Not as much as you think, BM, at the very least, not for all of us here. I see/saw it as one particularly sick incident to discuss, but this also then leads to a general discussion about this subject, at least from me and presumably others, obviously you for instance. You do bring a good point, however.

I have to agree with OANST's last post, though, Molluck's Assistant did kinda dig his own grave. He's not exactly done himself any favors at all by 'leaving' and he's gained nothing from this at all, he's merely lost a whole, excellent forum. His loss.

All I can say is that we can all probably learn a lesson from this.

i've left these forums because i simply do not have the time for it with my job, not because you forced me out. i dont reply anymore but i still read, as a guest, but i had to make an acception in this instance.

to cut a long story short, i dont lie, i hate liars, so my last post was not far fetched, it was true, pure and simple. i just dont like people thinking im bragging.

let me tell you, i once ended up scrapping in the cow shed at the old farm i worked at with another farm worker over the fact he nearly run me over while speeding round the place on the JCB telehandler, which would have obviously killed me, which sort of justifies my actions.

he was 32, and had been working there since he was 20, but i still ended up putting him down, though i must admit i took quite a hiding, and my hearing is now permanently damaged, he was a big bloke. both of us never told the boss, and said a young cow had charged us over. he was partly the reason i left there.

you see when i was younger, my parents took me to a docter for blood tests, because they thought i was taking small amounts of steroids, stupidly. the doctor told them it was just because i had a fast metabolism, eat well, and did too much work on the farm.

now that ive justified myself to you, not that i like to, do you see why i laughed out loud when i read your post? why do you think i posted it in the first place? compared to the people i've righteously 'had', you would be a bit of trouble, but not much more.

anyway, im a decent person, and i would guess that your a father (due to the picture of the girl). im a family guy myself, therefore i would not even think of fighting you, because it wouldnt be fair on the kid.

well done though, you provoked me into sending you a PM to justify myself, but like i said before, its easy to threaten people that aren't even on the same continent as you.

now please, leave me in peace!

This is all fine and dandy and true and obvious, except for the fact that you then went on to make a further joke specifically tailored to somebody's situation. Now, Hobo must be very easily pleased, because that didn't strike me as particularly 'mature' at all, and something that a person could take perfectly justified umbrage to.

Plah, taht what makes me hate some people (the dude who did this...) Thank goodness I dont live in a town or city, though having a dog in a large city with no real space is kinda mean (no flamming please, just my view). Humans are tortured, yes, but not like animals. Animals, as Zerox said, are trusting, especialy dogs, as they are used to humans, so they are easier to abduct, unlike people who are anturally suspecious folk

Well, animals arent as intelligent as Humans (sorry Lassie), so they wount be able to pick locks, undo chains, untie themselves...(though some can't, but hardly any...) So they are easier to keep captive, and cant run ot the police and tell them if they escape...

This is exactly what makes the mistreatment of humans worse, in my opinion. Unlike a dog, we are capable of mistrusting someone and their intentions. Unfortunately, do to sheer force, and underestimation, or drugs, sometimes that isn't enough. By comparison it seems like small potatoes when someone kills or injures an animal. To outwit, and hold a human against their will so that you can act out some sort of twisted fantasy or ill-conceived notion, is much, much worse.

A dog, for example, does not really have any idea that it is about to be hurt, tortured, or even murdered. After enough abuse, sure, it might be wary, but it will never feel the pure terror that a human must feel in a similar situation. Our brains are different, and, as a result, we feel and experience more than any other animal ever could.

You made the point of an animal being helpless in that it would be unable to free itself and run to the police. Does a human not fall into the same category when in the exact same situation? Animals have it bad, but people have it worse.
