I hate it when people say that.

a good bassline is harder to play then any solo.

True, it requires quite some dexterity. It's harder to play riffs with one finger. Or two

What about a 6 string fretless? If God existed he'd play the bass like DiGiorgio.
A record shop was going out of business so I bought some classical music for like 80 percent off. So far I've really been digging Vivaldi. Holy shit, cats could shred back in the day!

Silly they be. I only really started to play around with it recently, and it's entirely different. Also, reggae bass is just plain fun to play.

Yeah, I love what I've heard of Vivaldi. I'm often listening to The Four Seasons.

I like 1970's Rock music. There, I've said it. It is hard to admit. "I canvass for the BNP" would have sounded better. "I eat kittens before torching ophanages" would lead to less social outcasting. Queen is my favourite, but I also enjoy The Who. Also I like Rat Pack, music ripped from games, classical, and the music they always put on TV or films whenever the scene changes to a middle eastern location.

The seventies was probably rock music's greatest period. Recognising that doesn't make you odd.

You should never be ashemed of what music you like, I know I'm not. And liking oldies music isn't anything strange, there are plenty of people at my school who dig oldies.

70s rock, Bullet Magnet? Why are you ashamed of that?
It was a great time for it gave me two things I very much enjoy
NWOBHM/Heavy Metal
Queen. Queen is the absolute best music to play cards or game to ever. I'm not kidding. Your poker night, D & D session, or first person shooterfest will be greatly enhanced by Queen. You can get hours of enjoyment simply from playing "Another one bites the Dust" backwards and chanting along with the crystal clear backmasked message: It's fun to smoke marijuana! Its so bad that if we were to word associate I'd say Killtacular, Check raise, or Power Attack if you were to say Queen. Not king.

Anybody got any concerts lined up?
Anthrax is doing the rave, the album Among the Living in its entirety, I think Beyond Fear is opening. original line up:Spitz is better than Caggiano, Belladonna isn't as good as Bush, and Frank Bello on the bass! Spread the disease, wahoo!!! Oh, I'm also seeing Primus and Hot Hot Heat and an assload of other bands for 20 bucks.

V Festival, Staffordshire, August 20th.

Its a huge rock festival put on by British radiostation Virgin Radio.

Radiohead are headlining which is why i'm going, fave band and all. But other bands playing are like Bloc Party, Keane (aaaarrgghhh), Editors and Beck!

Going to be an amazing night.

It's probably going to be wicked.

Punk. Voted rock cos it's the closest, but I love all the fast punk like NoFX, Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, et cetera, as well as recent stuff like Fall Out Boy, The Academy Is..., and Panic! (I dunno if they're considered emo still or not, but I never thought they were.). At the moment I'm also listening to lostprophets and Rise Against.

Hey, Bown, do you like stuff like Agnostic Front, Black Flag, etc?
Crossover mayhaps?(Cryptic Slaughter, D.R.I., Sacred Reich, Suicidal Tendencies, et. al.)

In what way did that come across as racist? I assume that he's white, anyway. Since he was white in the picture he showed of himself. You're a little confused.

Kids these days. Anyhow, I was watching a rerun of Who Wants to be a Millionaire(Hey, its better than O'reilley, get off my scrote).
Anyhow, the $125,000 question was "What is a Korina Flying V?" and I was screaming "Its a guitar, its a guitar you ignorant slut!" He didn't get it because he was an ignorant slut.
I kept hearing all this great shit about Dimmu Borgir and I honestly gotta say I don't get. Very mediocre, 6 or 7 at best. I cranked some Vader and Kreator to get the bad sounds outta my ears.

I'd say I can listen to almost all music and enjoy it. Some styles I appreciate and analyze absorb more, for instance Jazz and its specific branch offs with BeBop etc. and the genuis of Charlie Parker and Miles Davis, etc. However, even if there's a style I'm not too fond of such as country, etc. I respect the artist and what they are trying to do or trying to get across with their lyrics.

However, I will say this summer I have been listening to a lot of 311 which surprisingly I was only introduced to this past year and the song on my mind right now is probably "Flowing."
