Unless their brains are different, biologically. I mean, there's got to be something different with mud's brains/bodies to give them chant power.

Abeguy's onto something. I really don't want to hear anything about Mudochlorions. But then I'm in the unique position of actually being obliged to read the discussion. Anyone who wants to keep the spirituality of Oddworld intact is entirely able to just ignore this conversation.

Rain can be made on Earth by releasing particles of Silver Iodide into the atmosphere. This causes moisture to gather around the particles, forming rain drops. This has the side effect of denying rain to other areas.

Mazel-tov on your extensive general-knowledge!

But I fail to see the connection between going up in a plane and dropping silver iodide powder into a cloud on the one hand to standing on the ground near a contraption, chanting and producing clouds and rain out of a clear sky.[/blatant cynicism]

NO no no Spiderman is FICTION and so is what you are describing. I was suggesting something which works

"Nanowires"??

Oddworld is fiction. It's a story as is any marvel comic.

I've been studying electrical and magnetic fields for over 4 months and have exam tomorrow
and there's no way a brain could generate them in big quantity (even at small it's not possible)
What do you think an MRI does Xavier? the currents in a brain produce magnetic fields. Granted they aren't big but Mud brains could produce fields that are much bigger, and shamans are just people who have learned to control their own brainwaves

This connection, my good fellow, is that both produce rain. Now, I'm just spitballing here, but if Oddworld's upper atmosphere contains trace amounts of silver and iodine vapour, then the lighning bolts from storm circles could ionise these molecules so they combine, forming the fine scattering of particles on which water can condense and collect on, untill rain drops have formed.

Of course, any particles could create the same effect, but silver iodide is used on earth. Pollution released during the work week gathers in the atmosphere, then after five days rains down again for the next two. Our own seven day week may actually cause it to rain on the weekends after five beautiful work days. Irony Gods be thy master!

Sligs are very strange creatures, I must say. They would probably my favourite villain apart from the Glukkons. Sligs are so funny!

That's a little off, Lord Vulcher. But I like the croaky voice.
The voiceover was good with the sounds

Not *any* particles...AgI is used because it has a similar structure to ice

I suppose they could. He always tortures us. We hardly know a darn thing about Oddworld with what he's saying.
