Short version: Sydney was removed from power by other Admins after the banning of two apparently undeserving members, he was re-instated soon after but it pissed off a lot of people who then left and never returned. They made their own forum, but it was shut down not long after.

Wasn't it the other way around? Didn't Sydney leave with members like Pilot and Lantra who made the Glass Asylum and was later shut down?

I have to say, I was laughing my ass off when I was reading that return thread Sydney made where he was all like "I AM YOUR QUEEN, BOW DOWN BEFORE ME!!!!!!! I WANT YOUR SOUL!!!!!!"

Oh how many times of discussions of the TGA split must exist here. Even people who joined long afterwards, such as Used and me, know lots about it!

Is that the one that said: "You've been pranked by the master" or something similar to that? Cause I remember, when I was not yet a member, I used to come check things out, and I saw this person who was saying that Fangus is not real and that "You were pranked, Screw you George Bush, ect."

During the forums hacking last year, I did a few searches with the hacker's name and found numerous forums hacked with the same cover page. I also found lots of forums with threads baout how pissed they were about it, as one would expect.

Tis a shame really, things were going really well at the time with great threads like the Fast Food one. I think the hacking sealed the fate of OWF's dullness and senseless drama (which I can see has dropped quite a bit renetly, good job everyone!).

Just wondering, who here is a member from way back? Like from the EZboard and the UBB days? I remember the old EZboard days when there was no Off-Topic discussion. If you wanted to post a general topic then you had to write (OT) in the subject matter. It got to the point where there was so many of the (OT) threads a general discussion forum was made.

Used, you beat me with posting about Masterchief. The guy kept on claiming he was the uberest of Halo players, and swore he could pwn all of us. Then he went on a random and brutal flaming rampage. I think that it was in one of the Halo 2 threads.

Recently, all the old members have been dropping out, because of the nightmarish new members. And all the old ones. This thread shouldn't be called Hilarity of OWF's History, it should be called, "The Darkness of OWF's History."

Yeah things have changed quite a bit over the years, then again so have many members to some degree or another. I was only 13 when I first joined the forums and now I'm 18. But there's no denying there were some "dark" times if that's a fitting word for what happened. So how we perceive things changed as well as there seemed to be a lot of drastic change all at once over a short course of time and now not so much, minus some random chaos here and there.

Like Alpha-Scrab I was around before the forum change.
I remember there being a lot of childish brutal flamefests going on over which was the best console, Xbox, PS2, or Gamecube.

Nah, I went on a brutal flaming rampage against him.
I have never met a person on a message board that I hate more than that guy.
But he definitely deserved it, possibly not how bad he got it though. I remember Al was good friends with him in real life.

Pilot didn't run off with Sydney, it was Pilot who pushed Sydney away. The Glass Asylum may have died, but its legacy continued with The Stoneage Repository and then The Church of Pokey. I briefly swung by there a few months ago, but it's full of such immaturity and lack of depth I just couldn't stay.

I joined the ezBoard Oddworld Forums wayges back. I remember a post by ODDBODD reminiscing about the good old days.

I remember an argument I got into with PinkHaired over whether Sligs were related to Glukkons. She wouldn't have any of it, refusing, as she did, to accept anything to do with evolution. Haha, poor soul. I got my caps lock on and everything.

That was a fun night. Come to think of it, there were many a fun night on MSN/Oddchat. I still see niggies on from time to time- SS mainly. But alas, life has moved on. As opposed to me circa 3 years ago, I now engage in outside social interaction. Huzzah.
