Yeah I've been slowly working on it. I finished the loading bay and railway line to it yesterday. I won't bother with doing the inside until I get my hands on the new materials (such as iron bars) that 1.8 will give. But it gives me time to plan.

Just an update: Today I've spent the afternoon planning and working on this project after taking it easy for a week while I've gathered motivation and ideas - I'm building the boardroom.

Finishing this project will still take a long time but it's far from dead - I now at least have an idea of how to continue. Stay tuned.

@Splat: It's a WIP, I haven't done all the furnishings and decorations yet, will play around with stuff. Not sure about glowstone since I really dislike it - The texture is ugly. :S Only good thing about it is that it glows.

@MeechMunchie: Redstone wire can't be made to go vertically.

Just letting people know that the project is still alive and kicking, I work on it a little bit every day, either through stockpiling resources or adding small details. For example there are now more chimneys out the front, the roof is finished (I may modify it later though), and I've drawn up some plans for the ground floor which I won't post here yet 'cause they're subject to change.

Dripik and Splat have been giving me lots more stone too, so many thanks to them.

As I said before I'll be picking up the pace after 1.8 once I find out what new materials I'll have to work with - I'll try not to spend too much longer working on this though, after all it'd suck if I finished this several months down the line long after people have lost interest in Minecraft. If I do ever cancel this thing for whatever reason, I'll say so here - But I plan to see this through to the end.

I'll never lose interest in Minecraft. It just runs too slowly on my computer to be enjoyable.

I'll try to get on some time to look at RF, though, because it's an amazing project. I hope you do finish it.

Okay, I understand that height of "cube-map" is too small for bigger buildings but - some people can respond to me only like kids? (I don't talk about DH). Also, "Glukkon place - with slig" looks really nice (in Minecraft terms ;-).

Eh it does that sometimes, then corrects itself. It's to do with server lag. Nothing to worry about.

We've not spawned anything on the server; all the blocks were obtained by mining and crafting, and this has gone on since 1.8. Recently we've all moved to a new settlement to take advantage of the 1.8 features and because we've been busy with that (DH has been a huge contributor to the community builds going on there, not to mention building himself a castle), not much has happened to RF.

There's a topic in Non-Oddworld Gaming about the Minecraft OWF Server. Entry is officially restricted to people who are established members of the OWF community, so I don't know if you'll be allowed in. But that rule is mainly in place to stop people joining the forums just to get into the server, so you might get in, since you have been a member so long, if not an active one.

I could have built Rupture Farms in Single Player with INV Edit if I really wanted to, even before 1.8. But for the (rather stupid) challenge of it, it's being built legitimately on the multiplayer server in survival mode. It also gives people the opportunity to contribute to the project.

I fully intend to continue building when I'm done with the castle at Exoddus (intended to be a public building, BTW - Not just for myself) - The portal Havoc put in to it recently makes things a little easier. Stay tuned.

Production has resumed on RF, even if the results aren't the best - Although they will look better once inside the factory. These turbines were done in creative and MC Edit so maybe I can play around with them a bit more before I painstakingly re-build them in SMP. Perhaps they're a little too heavy on iron bars.

@ Splat - I had that idea ages and ages ago to re-create the AO intro in Minecraft, if some decent skins were made. I'll happily film & edit it, if we co-ordinate using voice chat. This is why I want to get it looking like the FMVs as much as I possibly can first (with continued help), then base the rest of it on what's seen in the gameplay (catwalks, etc).
