That said, would there be any interest in a mobile-friendly forum skin? Like, one that changes depending on what device you view it on?
Definitely. Make one with big-ass buttons for iOS.

Wait. What?

I did indeed want to build my own discussion board system, but I never got further than writing a few classes. Of which I would then go back and re-write because I decided they were written incorrectly. The probability of swapping the OWF to my system is zero - and has been for years now.

It's been an incredibly long time since I discussed this with anyone though - but I floated the idea of switching to Xenforo a while back, even going so far as to import a test board. The issues preventing us from swapping right now are the lack of OWF themes for Xenforo and the absence of blogs.

As Wil touched on, my issues with vBulletin stem from the loss of actual talent and direction. I'm not going to pay for shit software.

What are your thoughts on Vanilla? Open source, well-documented (including theme creation docs), and supports importing from old forums.

Funnily enough I think iOS styles buttons like that itself unless you specifically override it in the CSS.

Funnily enough, up unto a year or so ago, the largest Vanilla board was one I was privy to. I don't view Vanilla as being on the same scale.

Okay, so I finally got around to making a skin, most of it is in the link below. Yes I know, it's 9 months late or something, but enjoy. A lot of hard work has gone into it and I hope it gets used soon!

I would possibly use that skin.

That's a shame, I really tried to get across a feeling of homosexuality through the colour scheme. XD
