I'm sorry, but they used the same model. THAT IS HOW HE LOOKED.
Then I have a completely different game, because for me, he doesn't look anything like that pixelated thing. That is probably some kind of alpha version of Stranger. For example, look at this guy's video of LP Stranger's Wrath:
That Stranger doesn't look as pixelated as in the picture.
Well done for picking a video where the only close-up of his face is obscured by convenient vegetation. Stranger really doesn't look particularly high-res is that video. I don't even know how you can use it as evidence to the contrary.
I remember how great I used to thing Metal Gear Solid 2 looked. Now, 10 years later, having played MGS4, I put MGS2 on the other day and it looked really bad - nothing like I remembered it to be.

Max, thanks for the info, I sure learned something today...
Also:
Nice...
Jesus. They really did a good job with that model.
Do you think, due to todays almost realistic graphics, that the gameplay of the new oddworld game coming is going to be as High quality as the CG from the old games?
That certainly was Lorne's long-term goal. But it's really not realistic yet. I've yet to see a game in real-time that I was 100% sure was pre-rendered.
