still cant believe its taken them 13 years to realise that playstation is where oddworld should have stayed.... ah well its back and thats what counts :-D
*Slaps wrist* No, no. Quiet you.

So you didn't like the game, solely because it didn't have Abe? It has one of the most original and enjoyable gameplay mechanics ever (in my opinion). You've every reason to give it another chance and not be selective for such silly reasons...
If you look at all the Oddworld games, what they all have in common (besides being odd) is the unique gameplay mechanic that is dependable upon executing different decisions - be they selecting different ammo types for different situations to orchestrating a crowd of Mudokons or fuzzles to using GameSpeak - in order to get a result required.

Its all about a certain co-operation. SW has that, and for me, that's what counts toward an Oddworld game.

I don't think Playstation really was the home for Oddworld, it's just that it was the in thing at the end of 90's.

Definitely wasn't. It was more of a bad choice to make MO and SW exclusive for Xbox. A lot of people bought a PS2 rather than an Xbox. I actually bought Xbox first and PS2 later on.

it was originaly meant for both systems but then microsoft bought the publishing rights then it all went down hill from there. MO looked awesome before microsoft fucked everything up.

played it the other day for the first time in years.... didnt suck as bad as i remembered but then i remembered about all the deleted stuff that was meant to be present :-(

Next to Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon, Abe was considered one of Sony's unofficial mascots, back in the day. That's how important he was

Really? That's awesome

Do you think AbeMudokon is going to say anything soon?
I think now that we have Stranger's Wrath announced, we'll have to wait alot to hear anything new, unfortunately... :/

From Abemudokon's Twitter Page:
"The surprise/present will come on Thursday"

Added:
"To clarify, the surprise is NOT an announcement."

Also added:
"Our chums at @jawltd will be starting a dev diary for Stranger's Wrath, Thursday is part 1."

Cool.

This is SO cool. I asked Stewart on september 6th...
"@stewartgilray Just a quick qustion. Any plans to do a developer diary blog of some kind? I remember Inhabitants did some for Abe & Munch."

He replied:
"@KraZidave we've not been asked "

So I said:
"@stewartgilray I hope someone does ask. ;-)"

And here we are. Ask and you shall receive. :-)

Intro to the dev diary has been posted here.

Seems like they're just making things prettier. We knew this before, but I hoped they'd announce some new content. I already thought SW was good looking for an Xbox game.

So great that they've started it up, though. I can't wait until they bust out some screenshots. Really interested to see just how different the remaster will be.

I have to admit, the comparison of Stranger (Xbox - PS3) is looking nice, I never realised how bad his model was in the original game.

I think that Stranger's Wrath (Xbox) looks like an early next-gen game and that's huge success for the Xbox/GC/PS2 era. Amazing cutscenes, great details and graphics.

That Ps3 model comparison looks great! I'd be completely satisfied with that as the in-game model, and yet they're taking it to over double the polygons for the actual remaster, if I've read correctly.

This is going to be a better remaster than I thought. With the model looking like that, I'm looking forward to seeing what the scenery will look like.
