I liked it. But only the plot about the Doctor.

Missy and Clara need to go. I've hated their characters since the beginning.

I quite like Missy. She's better than John Simm hamming it up.

John Simm's portrayal was unique. Of course it was on-the-nose, but The Master has never really been subtle, has he?

I loved John Simm. Not so much during his final episodes. (a bit too crazy) But he was awesome in The Sound of Drums.

To be fair on John Simm, he had terrible material to work with in some of those episodes. Still, he was a bit pantomime at times. He wasn't far off this:

I actually liked most of part 1. Until John Simm started headspinning.

By the way, everyone should go negrep Phylum and Varrok for having autoplaying sound effects every time the last page is loaded.

Good episode tonight. I really enjoyed it.

I loved the conversations with the Doctor and Davros. I almost took Davros seriously. Almost. But I always had the nagging thought in my mind that he was just tricking the Doctor and then in Doctor Who tradition. The Doctor in turn will double cross him. Sure enough I was right.

I found Clara and Missy to be tolerable. They make this weird team which is quite fun to watch. The Dalek sewer idea was a bit strange though. And leading into that, I found the end a bit anti climatic. "haha. I've tricked the Doctor, now the Daleks are hybrids... Oh. the ground is shacking. Oh. We're being killed by screaming mud..." Eh...

Saying that though. The part with Clara inside the Dalek was brilliant. Actually the whole idea of that was great I thought. You knew the Doctor wasn't going to shoot. But boy was I holding out hope...

Anyway. So far so good. I'm liking this season so far.

I really enjoyed Clara inside the Dalek. It opened up a shit tonne of plot holes (like why is the casing a voice changer? It only amplifies the Daleks' voices, they have the roboty tone to them anyway) but it was cool nonetheless. It was a really nice callback to the first Dalek episode in 1963, as was the whole set (especially the Kaled city and the corridors).

Massive paradox at the end though, where he saves Davros as a child. Also, why does he have a South London accent as a kid?

Lot of shit made no sense, but the episode itself was enjoyable enough for it not to bother me that much. Also, I agree that the finale was a bit anticlimactic.

Classic Daleks actually being utilised well, too. Woop woop!

... like why is Clara so fucking stupid that she keeps shouting out 'I'm Clara' even though she knows it doesn't work. Stupidest fucking companion ever.

Overwhelming emotions? I dunno. I mean she was being held at gunpoint. She eventually figured out "Mercy" worked though.

Speaking of which, Why was the Doctor so surprised that the Daleks can say mercy? Like he's never heard them say that before... The Dalek in the 9th Doctor Episode "Dalek" said mercy. And he didn't question it then. I have no idea why I remember that. Probably because I adore that episode.

Well this entire episode was a huge homage to Genesis, which is where a Dalek says "Mercy, I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary banks". I have heard it multiple times in the new series, though.

Also, if the gun fires for emotion, how come she didn't shoot the Doctor when he was aiming the Dalek gun at her? That would've been tense if she was trying to restrain her emotions in that section as to not kill him.

Also, how the hell does he fire a Dalek gun if it works by emotion? He did it in Genesis, too, but I can forgive that seeing as that concept hadn't been established yet.

In fact, it's like they just threw it in for that one scene in the sewers with Missy and then forgot about it.

I agree with Nate, Clara is dumb as shit. How many times did Missy tell her that it works through mind control, and yet she never decided to try opening it with her mind. Moron.
Fuck you, I kmew somebody would bring that up. Point is, Davros never has that accent again, so wtf guy

Is anybody else pissed that the fans threw a hissy fit over the 2010 Daleks? We're probably never going to see them again, and they were cool as shit.

I assumed that the explanation was because the tank had somehow been infected by TimeLordiness. Also, this isn't exactly the first time that Time Lord and Dalek have been combined, c.f. that shitty episode in New York.

I didn't think they were that cool, but I was pleased that it looked like they were going to try and do something interesting with the Daleks for once. Nope, same-old same-old.

Well we were promised cool things with them. There's a video that pretty much sums up my thoughts on that issue.

Not wanting to bump the Doctor Who thread again but I just want to say...

Clara's death scene was the most pointless and over the top death scene in the show. Seriously. She died to save a minor character which only appeared in ONE episode prior. A character I forgot existed.

I mean. I'm glad she's gone don't get me wrong. She was around for way too long and outstayed her welcome. But man. What a way to go.

The whole episode was a big fat "meh". In fact every episode starting from the Zygon 2 parter has been "meh". Oh well, at least it started out aright...

I used to like Doctor Who before 12. But Capaldi's first season was so weak I stopped watching just a bit before the season ended. Is the newest one any better than the last season?

Season 8 was great, especially compared to season 9, which has been utter trash. Honestly I liked Clara's death. It may have been pointless, but so what? Not everybody dies for a good cause.
I've already legitimately forgotten the name of the character she "died to save". I only remember him as budget Mickey.

I liked Season 9 a bit more. A bit. It started out great but got worse.

I do love Capaldi as the Doctor though. I really hope he doesn't bugger off before Moffat does.

Also just heard that River Song is set to come back in the Christmas ep. Uugh.

Brah, there are no spoilers in this show anymore. You find out everything way before it happens because the show runners have no idea how to build hype without just giving away spoilers.

Yup. The Dr Who's social media literally just gives away certain spoilers months before the episode release. So if your really touchy about spoilers, you literally need to cut all contact with any outlet of news.

It's not worth it though. Because everything about the show is underwhelming.

Yeah that stupid of me. Sorry. I kinda forgot people on here would want to talk about the show again.

I watched 10 minutes for the first episode of this season and stopped.

I'm done.

I can't.
I'm actually enjoying it. It's not to the level of its best, but it's well above where it's been the last few seasons.

If you don't like Missy, just skip the first two episodes and watch Under The Lake.

Y'know what. I really enjoyed tonight's episode. It kept me guessing and had some genuinely on edge moments.

And holy fuck. That finale looks nuts.

It was pretty good. Having the Doctor being the only character in the episode was interesting but I don't think it was executed impeccably.

Loved the finale, thought it was fantastic. I actually think it was the best finale since Doomsday. Really interesting and unique way of sending off a companion and speaking of Clara, I actually liked her in this episode.
The new screwdriver looks a bit weird, but I'm happy the 12th Doctor finally has one of his own.

That being said, as much as I enjoyed this episode and this series as a whole, (I changed my mind about it) I think the Christmas special looks like complete shit. To be fair though it's almost tradition for the Christmas episode to be dogshit, the last good one was probably Voyage of the Damned in 2007.

Edit: Yes, I know that post was horribly written but I'm tired as fuck and fuck you
