That's like saying that Nate's mean. It's too obvious to say out loud.
I wouldn't know whether Nate's mean, i've never actually spoke to him on the forums (that I can remember.) I too am a newbie

Anyway in a (most likely noobish) attempt to keep this post on topic:
I watched "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" yesterday. That was a strange yet humorous film.

Watched Paranormal Activity.

It was pretty damn underwhelming. :-/ Typical hand-cam movie flow. Typical guy who's obsessed with filming everything and even thing they wouldn't film irl. Typical person who gets mad at the guy who always films. Typical intentional stupidity, that movie writers use to make the story bend to their will. Typical scary stuff happening.
Seriously... The movie was... ok. Kept me not totally bored. But it still annoyed me and could be so much better. Also the ending annoyed me too DX!
rant rant rant!

Those spoiler tags are annoying too!

Well I liked it...

Also, finished Gundam 0800 War in the Pocket. That was...wow. That was pretty sad stuff.

Brb bridge.

The Harry Potter books are all pretty good, really. You have to understand that the style changes - less amazing, fantastic, childish - because Harry's growing older. He's realising himself the world isn't as brightly coloured as he thought.

I've got no issue with cutting films to make them a watchable length, but they cut out some vital parts of the plot for that one.

I honestly thought that movie was incomprehensible.
It was a supplement to the book and it never tried to be anything else.

It managed to pull that off damn well.

I saw the Video Brinquedo ripoff of The Princess and The Frog. It was bad.

I also saw part of Actium Maximus: War of the Alien Dinosaurs. It was worse. I didn't watch all of it, though. BECAUSE IT WAS BAD

Uuuuuh, I was at the midnight openings for the final three books and absolutely loved books 1-6 to bits dude. I just don't enjoy everything in book seven from Rufus's death to the Battle of Hogwarts.

I went to a Harry Potter themed birthday party for chrissake.

I thought that the first and third books were pretty clever YA novels. I could have lived without the other five.

Yeah, speaking from the point of view of someone who hasn't read the novels, I can say that the last few films were sloppy, scatter-shot, incomprehensible piles of wooden acting and overblown visual fx. I'm also really tired of people telling me "Well, it's that way in the book". Maybe it was, but some books don't translate well into films without adapting the plot, in fact, most don't. It was easy to tell that they tried to stuff as much content into three hours as they possibly could, but also bypassed the non-important bits where characters just interact, the final result was three hours of cramped action bullshit and very flat characters. I miss when Ron was the quirky sidekick who actually got some fucking screen time. Now he's practically just a lunk-headed, tertiary character to the group dynamic. Fuck that.

I blame David Yates. I'm not sure why, but I just stopped liking the films after the fourth one, and it's not the books' fault either. The fifth was my least favorite, but it had plenty of good parts. I liked the sixth, but it's seemed very hard to put in movie form. There's just so many details that need to be there for it to really work. They went for the young demographic rather than putting in a good effort to make a quality film and do the book justice. I don't get why they just didn't go for thre hours since they're goingto split the seventh one.

Can wait to see the Riff Trax of the last two.

I've got no issue with cutting films to make them a watchable length, but they cut out some vital parts of the plot for that one.
I suspect they cut them out so they could pad out Deathly Hallows in to two films.

Watched Apocalypto last night. Not bad, but I wanted to see a fight scene with the Spanish at the end. Oh well you can't have it all.
