No, I'm pretty sure dying of cancer sucks. My mother has told me enough about my nana's last few weeks to make me certain of this.

It does, I've lost several family members to cancer. It's a horrible, prolonged and drawn-out way to die. It's also horrible for relatives and friends to witness, too.

Still, I don't feel sorry for Jobs 'cause I didn't know him. But he's luckier than most because he's left a big legacy. And I guess that's an important thing to try and do with your life.

That's not really dying though; that's suffering due to illness. Which is what Steve Jobs had been doing for years without any massive outpouring of sympathy.

I look at dying as being seperate to the illness that caused it. When my grandmother died of cancer, it was more of a relief than anything else that her suffering was now over.

There’s still that element of knowing “this is killing me, I’m dying from this”. It’s one thing suffering from pain, it’s a whole other thing suffering from a fatal pain.

Only laptops with a decent build quality, plus I have the money, plus it's best for what I need it for. I did ask if they could give me a discount for Steve Jobs death but they said no.

Also the particular Apple shop I visited in Cardiff had flowers and sticky notes on it with messages to do with Steve Jobs death.

Really? Why not make jokes? They are highly impersonal and actually help people get over periods of trauma so long as the person being joked about isn't too close. I mean that's not even the worst one, I can think of at least two that are nastier than that. =/

For all the comical blustering I do while working on them, I don’t hate them all that much. I could definitely see myself owning an iMac or Macbook.

But even if you don’t like them, losing Jobs is still monumental. He and Apple have had a huge influence on the entire tech industry for years.
