the 2d alive engine is no more :'( I'm so sad....
It is like 12 years old now so it probably hasn't existed in years.

But not to worry If they ever make another 2D game, my guess is it will be almost the same as the Alive Engine

the alive engine wasnt that good, i mean, it had a few glitches, apart from that, it was fine.

tweeted to the abemudokon guy and asked for news on the games, he wont be able to spill much but i'll let you know what happens...

They still used the A.L.I.V.E engine for MO, didn't they? So it'll still exist in some way, I suppose...

It was called A.L.I.V.E. 2, but it was a completely different engine in technical terms. It was a spiritual successor only.

Ah well. Not that the engine they use will affect ME, since yet again, flippin' Microsoft have stopped an Oddworld game from appearing on a PlayStation. I am VERY annoyed. VERY very annoyed. You'd think OWI would be struggling for money and wanting to sell to as many people as possible, but oh no, just let Microsoft make it Xbox exclusive. *Sigh*. I shall have to find out about the game purely from the descriptions of the charming people around here

What? No they haven't. Have they? What are you referring to? Stewart Gilray said the first project won't be for the PlayStation. For all we know that project is the Achievements on Steam, which would logically and naturally not involve the PlayStation.

Ah, thanks Max- my heart is filled with hope once more. I like the sound of a 2.5 D platformer as well, sounds good. If it was part of the Quintology, however, then there will most likely be Abe and one other character, and so that character must be one that will work well on a side- scroller. It must be something quite different to Munch, then, I reckon.

well the A.L.I.V.E. engine is still there,hidden in your game,somwhere deep inside the game is the A.L.I.V.E. engine,my friend tried to reconstruct it,it was 2/4 finished and he dumped the project ,he had sprites,controls timelines and paths,path editor,everything and he dumped it all into a trashcan and deleted it forever.... dont know why

It feels more to me like an announcement to put Just Add Water on the map than anything else. Something just in time to promote their latest product before having to shut up until they can actually say something about the Oddworld projects they are working on.

As far as I'm aware MS have no say what platforms any of the Oddworld title can or cannot be released on purely as OWI own the IP 100% so this is a mute point.
