the first person i ever saw using a twitter was stephen fry, because somebody told me he was twittering from new zealand. this was february (?) of this year, and i thought it seemed in it's infancy then, but it started in 2006 o.O
The first time I heard it mentioned was in at uni in early 2007, when we were given a talk about things that could be done with XML.

I just thought of the one advantage Google Wave has over MSN: it's tough in MSN when a topic of conversation meanders, or when two topics of conversation happen at the same time. In Wave, you can reply to specific messages and it places your reply right after it, indented.

Seems interesting and I do want to try it out, but I'm not exactly sure how this all works out with the invitations.

So, me and my mates found a reasonable use for it. We currently discuss stuff via email, usually beginning with a proposal for some activity, leading on to discussion about that activity and then devolving in to other discussions, links that someone found on the internet or random jokes. Wave is good because the discussions can branch but still be kept track of and you can easily go back and see the history without having to search through old emails. As plans change, the original posts can be updated so potentially confusing outdated information is kept to a minimum. Also, they have a nifty 'Yes/No/Maybe' applet that's good for these sorts of organisational things.

Plus, I just got one of the most awesome error messages of all time. See the attachment.

That was the error message, or close to it, that showed up when Google first showed Wave to the world. Glad they kept it.

I got an invite from someone else. The "New Wave" button doesn't work.
