STOP! This thread is for people who like Doctor Who. If you do not like Doctor Who, then why are you viewing this thread. I just thought this was getting way out of hand. Now can we get back to this topic please?

Why are you quoting me for? I'm the only one in this thread to 'defend' the show. And it seems silly to say this thread is purely for people who like it - you asked a question that has two answers, reflected in your poll.

Sorry, some of the posts were "not very nice" and I got angry. Sorry MF, I just quoted the last person to post in an argument.

I think Doctor Who would be served best if it was darker, with characters who were more realistic and who actually developed. From the episodes that i've seen, there's a new story every week, which seemingly wipes the slate clean, if you catch my meaning.

Also, the Writers try and do "funny" and "witty" and ultimately fail.

...though, i bum Joss Whedon and Abrams, so i'm biased.

Doctor Who ain't really my thing, but I don't hate it. I do like the little flash game on the BBC websites section on it though.

I don't really like the Doctor Who site. I only go there to get a new wallpaper. The only good game is the Dalek one. But I am stuck on it, unfortunately.

Doctor Who is similar to Oddworld, in that it splits those who know of it into two camps: fans, and angry old men/ladyboys who want to crap all over it, with very few casual "in-betweenies".

I think Rose will die at the end of this series. As the Beast said. I also think that Mickey will be back when he falls through one of those rips. His character was supposed to go through some strong development, and in wasn't completed in the cybermen episodes...

I find it more likely that Rose will be turned into a Cyberman. It would explain a lot.
Oh, by the way, I have a Doctor who forum. Find it here: http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/dalek.html
Have fun!

The same is true of Quantum Leap, but I love that.

"The same is true of Quantum Leap, but I love that."

True. But that had good writing and acting to make me forget about such atrocities.

Out of interest - was 'Doctor Who' ever scary?

Quantum Leap is the bomb. I tried, I really tried to like Doctor Who. I caught a few episodes, one involved a parody of the Weakest link and sentient violent trash cans. Maybe its something you have to watch from the beginning.

...i think i might be a bit biased, 'cos i'm a fan of TV series that are actually good. Yeh. I think that's it.

Of course, i still watch 'Doctor Who', but this is because i'm the sort of person who watches things just to bitch about them.

Happy(!)

For those who don't know- we are talking about the new series', with new writing and good costumes and effects. The old series had a lower budget and oler technology (I am told that was part of the charm.) And it is scary for the younger kids who watch it. I know lots of children who watched The Satan Pit from behing the sofa. One used binoculars!

Did you see last night's episode? I won't spoil it for those who didn't, but man! This series will cirtainly go out with a bang. Or a zap. Or a trip through an interdimensional portal into the void between universes, I can't tell which right now.

the last episode was great, I was disappointed rose didn't actually die and after talking it over the original cybermen would put up a better fight against the daleks (both of them would probbably be equal though) but because these new ones are made with inferior earth technology they didn't stand a chance....

Agreed. I would have prefered Rose to die as well. But how come Pete didn't immediatly get sucked into the void when he came to save Rose?

This topic lost it's respect when Lord Clutcher here spammed up the entire forum with links to this thing...

And next to that, because it's his topic is enough reason for me to bash it, okay? Agreed? Good. You of all people should know what happens to people who get on my bad side.
