Well, I said this:
:
One day, the Stranger starts getting serious aches and pains. The queen explains to him that he is still growing and he's now maturing into an adult. She sends him on a journey to find the master of the steefs, in which he can learn all there is to being an adult steef.
...and that talks about Stranger going on a spiritual journey of sorts to finally grow up. Of course, he would also try to find more steefs out there, but don't expect the whole storyline in one paragraph or so. I mean, Stranger wasn't like that, so I'm not sure why my story must be.

Evil incarnation. When do I say that? Oh, you mean the master's brother? He only seems evil in his intensions but later in the game you find that he's really trying to help you. He's kinda like Zelda in Wind Waker. You never really know what side she's on throughout the game and I like that. Granted, that's just an example, not my inspiration for him.

In any case, sorry if I sounded offended or anything. I just find it a bit annoying when people ignore a very long and difficult post I make. I understand, though. I'll try to make them more reader friendly next time, ok?

Alright, no problem. Sorry if I sounded harsh, I was just sort of annoyed. And other than the bit about the old costume (you know my stance on that) your story isn't bad.

If there ever was a Stranger 2, then I'd like to see....

A continuation of the epic story that had really only just begun once you finish Stranger's Wrath. I really liked is Guardian like stature that developed towards the end of the game, seeing him in that kick-ass amour just made want to move the camera around him everytime he got an upgrade. It became more of the Oddworld i love, the emotional side started to show through.

I also like how it combined a little history into the story, not a lot, but it was hinting at whats possible. For example the castle like buildings that the grubbs defend and the amour they wear and the talk of how the Steefs used to protect them. And when you reach the end of the game you learn about the Old Steef, its like "What?, the Old Steef? I wanna know more about the Old Steef, i wanna know more about Stranger's origins." That sort of thing, so you can imagin theres a lot to play with, that Stranger isn't just this bounty that's trying to preserve his own life by bagging outlaws, but that he's the only real hope of ever seeing more of his kind, or so it seems. Anyway enough about the story, everyone has there own ideas.

I'd obviously like to see more live ammo. However rather than say 2 or even 3 additions the different ammo types I would like to see a large variety of different critters that you can use. Maybe this seems to many but, being the large place Oddworld is, i think it would show the vastness and diversity of the natural habbitat. And perhaps you only find certain types in certain locations because of their rareness. Someone mentioned secrete ammo, that would be cool aswell, just a couple. And i don't mean in a box, i mean some fish or something swimming around, and you think to yourself hey maybe i can use that as ammo. That sort of thing. However having said on more ammo types, they should be destinctively different in how they affect the gameplay. The stunk was pretty much another form of the bolomite they both stunned the characters, expect the stunk worked on a group and the first type of bolomite worked on only one character, but you get the idea.

I'd like to learn more about the Ocktogi, and i'd like to see more sea life. That's just a personal interest. And also learn more about the grubbs.

I thought the way the world was set out was great, i kept saying to myself "Now this is what Oldworld was supposed to feel like!" The environments just ammazed me, they weren't linear, they all progressed into different atmospheres, extremely detailed. Just amazing, if they could build on this, with perhaps working on the graphics engine to produce some new special effects i'd be really blown away.

I agree, I am a big fan of the Cowboy Stranger. I would like to see a lot more of the western theme. Maybe Stranger could explore a Great Plains type area. Either way, I really think that it is the Western theme is what gave this game it's charm and that a lot of people would be dissapointed to see it go.

That's exactly what I think, actually, and I've heard a lot of different opinions on the matter. Some people like the Steef Stranger better because of the sheer magnificence of it all. Some people like it better because it reminds them of Oddworld just a little bit more.

I just don't think it's right to make us fall in love with this Western-meets-Oddworld style character and then take it all away in a Sequel. I mean, I was fine with it 2/3 into the game, as the game was getting a bit repetitive in that respect, so it was a good move for OWI. But getting rid of the Stranger LP in favor of this new LP would just be jarring to me. In a way, it wouldn't be a Stranger sequel, it would be a new Oddworld game with Steef as the main character, as Stranger and his ideals would be dead.

How can you be so sure Oddish? Do you have insider sources or something? If not, I wouldn't think so, being that the last third of the game was not "western feeling" at all. I liked it, but I liked the western theme a lot better. It made me kinda sad.

The area wouldn't be a desert anymore. The waters were released, now the land would more like the Mongo wilds. I agree that the western theme was a lot of fun and I missed it, but it just wouldn't make sense for Stranger to go Cowboy and bounty Outlaws again. I mean, he COULD do it to help the Grubbs, but it would be a lot less magnificent than, say, the 'inner journey' to Steefness and maybe defeating Secto once and for all. I'd much prefer it that way.

Oh, and to get back on topic, the thread is about what NEW features you want to see in the sequel. Even if you do want the western garb back, add something new please. Thanks.

I was kind of sad too.

As for new items, we definatly need some new ammo. I found that some of the ammo i barely even used, such as the stunks and stingbees. I think these could be replaced with something new, such as a bird based ammo. Maybe a woodpecker that attacks you target (I am not very good at coming up with specific ideas). Also, someone mentioned a plant based ammo, which sounds like a really good idea. I would also just like the game to be longer. Since the game lacks a multiplayer (not that I think you could successfully incorporate that) it needs to make up for that in the length of the gameplay.

Well, let me see if I can come up with some original ammo for Stranger:

Firds: Little birds that you shoot and guide in 1st person to hit your enemies. Think of guided missles. Once you hit your enemies, the birds stomach explodes, making a rather large explosion.

Flung-Dung Beetles: Basically like grenades, and easier to use than the boom bats. They bounce around things before exploding, too.

Buckers: Little beavers that you shoot at ladders, trees, and other structures to get the upper hand on enemies. Let's say an enemy is on one of those stake-outs on a tree. Chuck a Bucker at the tree to knock the tree down. Not very Oddworld-like, but still cool. Works on enemies how slegs work on Stranger.

Squirms: Worms that you toss out on a lure to get ammo from lakes. Also, most enemies love the stuff so they'll take a nibble as well. Pull em in to suck em up.

Upgraded Bolamites: Throw one of these at an enemy and it will wrap them up and pull them to you so you don't have to go out risking yourself. The best new feature is the ability to swing from tree limbs and to pull yourself up and camp out to snipe at enemies. Works on other "limb-like" objects like poles, beams, and etc.

ok now i would love co-op expecialy with that grub princess or somthing like that. and ammo ok, here are the ones i will make up:
smeeches: these little critters stick to your opponet and slowy decrease its health until it managers to either squash it or knock it off.
twreeps: these birds give a furocious tweet that makes your opponet unable to attack
life bug: these creatures can give life to others, getting you more moolah (if this sstyem still works), more men on your side and more fun.
seedlingz: they grow and block areas then grow thorns. you can climb up them before they grow thorns too.
oh and maybe some creatures that help you explire or get through areas like a rhino battering ram, some kind of fish/sea rex, some kind of bird that makes you fly and maybe a creature that can shield you from damage.
now, if only everything we said were possible!

I'm thinking Fangus might have a realtionship with Stranger, but if not, I'll be somewhat dissapointed. It doesn't sound like they have any connection... totally different world and all... oh well. I trust OI, but I still wish there were more of Stranger.

After Fangus we can have a game where Stranger and Fangus get into a Steel Cage Match! It will be OWI's breakout into the fighting genere this time produced by EASports using their WWF engine!

Wow if that actually happened I think I would burn my xbox.

Well, I think that this should be the norm, or close to it, for the forthcoming Oddworld games and beyond. I remember hearing in an interview somewhere that they finally have the gameplay to go with the story, and they're very happy with the outcome. So just because Fangus and Stranger have similar gameplay mechanics, probably means little in this case. They're also doing this to make the game sell, mind you, since that's a popular genre nowadays.

I think they should leave Stranger as it is. It's a brilliant stand alone game. Especially with Sekto escaping, and hopefully making a brief appearance/being mentioned in later Quintologies. Like a cutscene with Mags mentioning the fall of Sekto Springs.

I agree, it is a sweet game alone, but with Secto escaping, bringing him up later without mention of Stranger would seem kind of... empty, I guess. If that happened, I'd feel disenchanted, because I really want to see Stranger's world rebuilt. I just hope they get back to Stranger later on.
