Oddworld owes nothing to Sony. Sony has gotten there cut.

Contracts are honored then people or companies move on to greener pastures, in this case Oddworld went to the green pastures of Microsoft with XBOX, get it Green as in money. Beyond that the XBOX offers more freedom and allows devs such as Oddworld to showcase there talent with it's power.

XBOX has proven itself already to many whom have seen and played games first hand, don't speak in an assuming way there Sparky.

PS2 and Gamecube are fine machines, it gives more options to play the best and only best. For me extra machines, none the less still very nice options.

It's the games not the machines in the end.

However in all fairness no one can say XBOX has not yet proven itself.It has, to the ones in the know. The horse power and HDTV, 5.1 Dolby surround sound are a good beginning. The dev's have more to play with, limitations have been cut down for creation purposes due to the horsepower of the BOX. A.I.,Graphics,draw distance,sound,music,effects, atmospheric effects,all vastly improved and possible due to the power.

There are exclusives as well that cannot be overlooked.

Project EGO and Panzer Dragoon,Munch, sorry but true,Halo,Azurik,Heavens beast,24 automatons,Project Gotham,and more you know that already. Do not forget the Matrix,Kleaners,Orchid,Enclave, and Malice. Sure to come to the other machines, but with that extra power and extras such as HDTV and 5.1 Dolby surround sound those games will be better on the XBOX,due to it's inherit advantages, just a fact. If Atari for example came out with something more powerfull I would back it. It's the games sure, but the power help those games be more of an epic,just plain and simple.

Even MGS2, when it does hit on XBOX, wait and see the difference. I have seen it, and the reason it's not talked of yet is because Sony wants to sell PS2 versions this Fall, if they show the XBOX version they will lose a good chunk of the change this Fall on PS2. I can name another 10 games I have seen that will come on XBOX in the next 18 months, both already past pre-production and others in Concept stages that would be better than anything out thus far. The reason for such optimism is that I have seen and playtested these games, I have had in-depth conversations with the dev's, very talented people whom now are more free to put together better and more complex games in all around facets.... due to the XBOX power, bottomline it is the power.

Anyways, Back to my Debugger, XBOX eXXXXclusives Heavens beast and 24 Automatons are waiting.

PS2 wasn't out when I bought my ps1 this year plus I have to save more money for when im older. I don't wan't to be a street bum by spending all my money on new consoles and ps1 has a portable lcd screen that you can buy seperately. Ps1 would be the most potable console besides the gameboy.

I don't want to get in the middle of a console war... but most of you may be too young to remember when Sony joined the console market. When they did though they were the "outsiders" ... as Xbox/Microsoft are now. People said that Sony should stick to televisions and VCRs and stuff like that... that Nintendo and Sega were the ones that made the console industry.

I just thought I'd mention that... because from there, look at where Sony is now. And perhaps Xbox will be there in years time too.

They need to be given a chance... too many people are condoning them as a failure. Although I think the Xbox will go well (own opinion), Dragadon has a good view in waiting to see what it will be like before saying yay or nay.

Oh... and BTW... there is nothing wrong w/ the good 'ol PSOne! I don't have any next gen consoles at the moment... and my PSOne is cool... it has my favorite games like Oddworld and FF on it. I'll end up with a Xbox and a PS2 by this time net year, but the PSOne will still have it's uses. Graphics are always good, but I look for gameplay more than anything in a game... an many PSOne games have just that. Plus it's good that Sony are keeping this end of the market as many can't afford PS2, etc.

I am not having a debate on consoles. I have always said own them all if possible. Got that. I do and have only backed Oddworld and the XBOX when provoked, got it.

Ya know, the only reason I ever even BOUGHT a PS 1 is becouse of one night when I was whatching MTV and say the amazing comercal for Abes Oddysee. Trust me, I'd probbably still be playing Primal Rage on the SNES right now if it haddent been for Abe. I don't care what system has the game, I only care what game is on the system. I've always only bought game systems if the game I really want is comming out on them. In fact, I'm not buying a Game Boy addvance unless they hurry up and release that "Creatures" game for it. For now, my "Primitive" gameboy color shall be all I need. Oh yeah, you wanna know somthing sad? I only bought a dream cast becouse I wanted to play Seaman on it. The game stunk. They had SO better release Black and White on the dreamcast! Good thing I got it for 59 bucks from my bro's friend!

Yeah, I'm sorta in the middle. I think XBOX will be great system, but I also like my PS2, and Gamecube should be very good. All systems have good points and bad points. XBOX is very powerful (and has Munch ), but it is more exspensive than Gamecube. Gamecube is more compact, and cheaper, but its not quite as powerful as the almighty 'BOX. PS2 has years head start on the others, and will have the biggest game library of all for a while ('cause it can play PS games), but it is not as powerful as either. So no one system is going to be completely left behind by the others, and as long as they make games for that system, everyone will be happy.

When a machine is a "technological marvel" as Luxo said. Well I have to believe it will be a success. This machine of extreme high level technolgy will enable the talented artists and programmers less of a bottleneck in there creations, in every facet the creators of games will be able to give gamers more. From A.I. to Physics, more scripts for NPC'S, lighting, shadows,overall gameplay enchancement due to all the extra power available. Draw distance and expansive environments will keep the players into games as if they are really there. HI rez screens with better fill rate and texture purity along with 5.1 Dolby surround sound will give that sound the bang we all want, along with the musical scores crisp and clean. High level polys also will round off everything, from Characters/creatures to landscapes and structures. All this is possible due to the power. Technological advances are vital, and this machine does have the backing of a giant in the world of Buisness, like it or not, it is a fact.

There will be about 2 million XBOX's worldwide give or take 200.000 by April 2002. About 800 thousand to 1 million in the USA and another 5 to 600 thousand in Europe and in Japan. Japan is expecting 300 thousand at Launch on 2-22 2002. Another 200K the next 2 months. Europe expects 500K at launch and another 100K it's first month after launch. Now these numbers are not just off the top of my head, they are numbers from marketing researh teams. Look at what the BOX has already done, it is unavailable as soon as it comes up at any retailer.It seels out. And just wait till the common people get a glimpse, the casual gamer,this Holiday season and beyond will just jump in sales.And as the games get better and with time more people jump aboard the totals will grow and grow. It's a great machine with tons of talent backing it. How can anyone even remotely intelligent deny this machine success.

I back Sony, Nintendo, I own all there machines and will continue to do so. I like them, fun consoles, I like options,they give me more. But the XBOX is my choice for reasons that can not be discussed here,unless I keep typing for another 2 days. I have seen the future of XBOX games in detail from many companies, I know just how many really top notch games are in the works, far beyond what we have seen thus far and even what we will see this Fall. It's just a matter of time for all to see what I have already witnessed. By Christmas 2002 4 million Xbox's will be in homes around the world. And from there it will just grow and grow. Don't believe me fine, it's your right, but when it happens maybe you will take the word of someone a bit easier next time.

This is taking too much of my time,got to go. A couple other things before I do, I defend the system because I believe in it, and it stuns me to see some people that actually think it will or might fail, and they have not actually seen anything concrete of it or for that matter have no real experience in the making of games.

Anyway it's time for America to have a system of there own, enough with just the Japanese monopoly. People tht really want the best games should be welcoming the new XBOX, it will give better overall experiences and fun due to it's extra power, bottomline, it has already shown me, and soon it will show the naysayers as well.So lets let the XBOX do my talking from now on. i said that the Xbox would fail, not out of malice towards the Xbox, but simply as a statement of what i believe will happen. of course i would like an Xbox if i could afford it [i have already said that it is the best console on the market], but consoles are not very high on my priorities right now.
