I would say double the height of each floor - compare the scale of the slig in the cutscene to the corridor you've put together, it's way too small.

I hope the final version of Minecraft also has the option to make smaller blocks somehow. It's a very creative game but the sheer size of the blocks prevents any kind of detail.

Also, Better than Wolves has smaller blocks. It looks fairly neat.

Agreed with that, even half-blocks don't stack together correctly so you have to use compromises. Wil's boat is a good example of this (he should post screenshots of that, BTW).

Oh btw, when rendering the map of our world the program rendered a whooping 38.000 chunks. I have no idea how many blocks that is, but it seemed like a lot to me.

Quite, that is if 38.000 means 38,000, I assume it does since you are from the Netherlands, if it was just 38 it would be far more measly.

The catwalk got pretty awesome there. Nice one.

I might get to studying the floor plans soon, then I can contribute to the project once again. Yesterday, I merely walked from RF to the apartments, then back to Genesis Core, and realised that I don't want to do anything. Lack of inspiration or something.

That's the thing about Minecraft. Unless you have your own project then it gets boring very quickly. This is why I started such a big project to keep me occupied until 1.8 finally gets released.

As for RF, Don't forget about the floorspace plan - It's actually not that large an area. Splat said that if the RPG map was modified for Minecraft, he said he'd like to put more emphasis on the production lines and storage areas like how RF looks in AO, rather than offices, etc.

I'll be coming up with my own ideas too to help with that, maybe the three of us can combine them. Also, why not do what I'm doing - Take a careful look at AO FMVs and levels, then open up INVEdit for Minecraft and try designing some interiors in single player. It'll give you something to think about.

Minecraft 1.7 is out, but the server update is not available yet so don't update your clients. I will post here the second the server is updated.

Server has been updated to 1.7_01

The current server side build is designated as 'Experimental' and will be updated to a 'Recommended' build as soon as one is released. Everything seems to work okay though, so feel free to update and play!

The update is pretty cool. I can see amazing stuff being made from the Pistons.
