Not everyone has the same level of attention to detail as I do - Or are crazy enough to spend ages and ages in this game doing what I've done so far (mostly 'cause they have better things to do, unlike me... lol). Nor are they perfectionists who spend ages making sure everything as good as they can possibly make it... And that's why it's taken me 5-6 months. Well, that and I didn't have access to survival mode until 1.0 came out. :P

Still, it's nearly done - There's a couple of easy shots to re-take and there's the boardroom scene to shoot.

EDIT: I would have liked to film the boardroom scene on Saturday and I posted an announcement here advertising so, but looks like people are too busy.

It will, however, be postponed until after Christmas, so if people can tell me when they are free so I can better judge when to hold this event, it would be a great help to me and this project can finally be done.

Not looking good so far, I may postpone it but we'll see closer to the day, perhaps I should give more notice.

Oh yeah and I've had a look - For ages I've considered RF to be far too small for what I've been planning, believe it or not. For the adventure map, I plan to extend the building of RF lengthways up to as far as the edge of El'Scrabino's area - Although it'll mean building over his world hole that he dug. Also I'll move Dripik's treehouse...

I won't be doing that just yet though, there's far more important things to do first regarding the movie, but it's an idea I've had.

Looks like we'll have to do the boardroom scene some other day.
We can just focus on shooting some of the other scenes instead.

I guess skinning creepers are glukkons would be a bit too dangerous to try?

There should be a plugin that make creepers non-aggressive but they'll still be moving around and jumping places they shouldn't be.

Well I've postponed it until after Christmas - And as I said in the edited post above, can people let me know when they'd be free? That way I can better judge when to hold this event.

Hmm, suppose I could re-skin testificates or something if getting 9 people together is impossible. Lots of people showed up for the Exoddus opening, though.

The 27th is the only day that isn't good for me.

If we could keep 9:00pm that would be wonderful, as that's not too early for me. I still have to wake up at around 7am, but I can live with that.

Actually... there is a plugin that lets players disguise as mobs, including creepers. If you reskin the Creeper you won't have the problem with arms being in the way, they'd be more Glukkon like (and the irony of having the antagonist of Minecraft be the antagonist of Oddworld). Could be useful.

RF is too small. So I'm making it twice the length.



Of course finishing the intro movie will come first, but I've started the extension while I have the inspiration and patience to do so.

@El'Scrabino: Sorry about your world hole, you hadn't touched it in about 3 months and it was in the way of progress. If you want I'll send you one of my backup maps, which it's also on. Or I can build you another one in the map itself - There may not be much point though.

@Dripik: Mind if I re-build a copy of your treehouse elsewhere? It's kind of in my way.

I would suggest that most people don't use the term irony. I was misusing it for a long time so I don't even bother with the word anymore. It saves a lot of heartache.

Aside from making a big fuss over nothing while being sleep deprived to re-set my pattern after spending a night looking after a sick cat, I've been working on this some more:



What took me several hours over 4 weeks before has now taken me about 5 hours over 2 days. How I love creative mode.

But it's one of the server's very first buildings... I'll preserve it by building a duplicate. And maybe finishing it for you. I don't like removing things indiscriminately, I even feel guilty for building over Scrabino's world hole.

I realised earlier that the RF project is 6 months old today. That means I've spent 6 months working on this crap, on and off. WTF. I need a life.

Still, to celebrate, here's a little something. More behind the scenes footage, this time a flythrough. I missed out the underground corridor though. Ah well.

It's not listed publicly but I'll make it so when the AO intro is finally finished and out.

That's really cool. I would definitely recommend making sure that pigs work more reliably. Besides that it's looking like a fine project. Just balance your work, fun and social lives and you'll be fine.

I would definitely recommend making sure that pigs work more reliably.
I blame people accidentally breaking the circuitry and not putting repeaters back where they were before. Also server lag. And sod's law - It only works perfectly when nobody else is around (like today when I re-filmed shot 3). But never mind, no more shots are needed involving the pig conveyor.

@Crashpunk - No, your Honeydew face can stay where it is, I don't have plans for that area. Maybe I'll put the stockyards there later as part of the adventure map if I can be bothered but it may not be worth it.

I need some feedback. I need to re-shoot the prison cell scene so as a result I've added more detail. Abe's shackles need to be re-done I feel, too. So what looks better?



Maybe there's an alternative?
