Oddworld The delete option in edit!

I was woundering could we put the delete option back on for us members to use again please? So that if you don't like the things you wrote down you can altimatically just simply delete the thread. I found that to be a really convienent thing when we were abel to do so. I know we were abel to do that before but I can't delete something that I don't want anymore. I don't know if its just me or anybody else. I get a message saying I can't use this option in editing my threads. Why is that? I feel that is a little inconvienent because sometimes I put something in and I re read it and I just don't want that so I go to delete and I can't delete it.

I know it is the Mods job to determine if threads are to be closed or not but I think if we are abel to delete our own threads in edit then we should do so. Each of us can independantly get rid of things we don't want. We are only humen we make mistakes! It would clean up un wanted threads and the spam problem would be lowered a bit. I just feel we should be abel to delete our threads that we don't want and that we know are pointless. This is a member involved forum right? Heres an example the other night I put in a thread that I thought would be kind of funny but I was wrong so now I want to delete it but I can't and so now its going to be filled with spam and bunch other unwanted junk until a mod comes around and closes it. In the mean time pointless spam is filling the thread that we don't want on the forums in the first place. I feel if the members can delete their unwanted threads then the problem we have on the forums can be resolved fairly easily. Thats just my opinion and suggestion. The edit option is a great thing we have so we should delete as well in edit too.

It can really regulate the spam.

Thankyou
Paramiteabe...

You see what I mean MOM? This is one of the reasons I balieve there is a lot of spam topics. We can't delete any so they just sit there. I am not putting the Mods on spot light here. I am just saying that it would really be convienent to bring back the delete option when you edit thats all. Because sometimes when you write things some people have the tendency to not re read what they wrote and when its bad they want to get rid of it. But we can't and that is what my problem is. If not deleteing option maybe a trash can for unwanted threads. Thats a suggestion.

This is one thing that I don't think would be very good.

A person can delete an entire thread just by selecting to delete the very first post of a thread.

If people have made a mistake, simply edit the post and ask fir Mod assistance.

That's how I see it...After all the Mods are there to help you.

Alcar...

I totally agree with Alcar, take an example. look at Sydneys picture request topic, what if he deletes his own posts, that would delete a whole entire thread. That would make everything unstable like your post counts, post counts perday, the stars and the name of what you are.

Well since you put it that way it does make sense. But wasent the whole thread gone only when you deleted your first post and not the others?

I guess it is just best to keep it the way it is and just let it be.

Oops, sorry Xavier i mean the What do you look like topic in offtopic discussion.

Adder, i dont think you could edit your post to nothing since its counted as spam, you should edit to something like telling the mods to delete the post.

Don't take it away. Besides, people shouldn't get embarassed over something they posted.

But sometimes we accidentally double post. Couldn't you make it so we can delete posts but not threads? It would really help.

All you need to do then is apologize and wait for a mod to fix it, no harm done.
