For halloween, I'll be attending a few local shows [backyard concerts, in other words..]

I think I'll be going as the stereotypical goth, just for shits and giggles.

I'm trying to stay away from drugs in general [including alcohol, sadly] so halloween might be a bit dull this year...oh well, I guess I could always spray paint an inverted cross on my neighbors front grass...that was a big hit last year.

You sound like 11 years old... doubt it.

I don't think I'll be going out for candy on halloween after all. Tempting thoguht, but no. Maybe go out with a friend to go taunt little kids or something, but I might just stay home and take advantage of the various movie marathons.

Drunk Huh?

Christian festival? American tradition?

What about TBN's take on it, and Dia de los Muertes? Some Christians think Halloween is Satanic (like my mom), and the autumn festival of the dead has been celebrated by lots of cultures, long before America even became a country.

Hallow E'en used to mean Holy Evening. It was a cover-up name for Day of the Dead, which pastors didn't think sounded very Christian-like. However, they couldn't get their newly-converted Lambs of God to forsake their old rituals. So they just pretended it was ok, whereas before they thought it was evil.

I hate the hypocrisy of my family's religious practices!
At least mom still lets me dress up. Once I get my costume done this week I'll look up the biggest, most publicized costume party in my county....and I'll go when the time comes! What am I going as? ......hehehe, you'll have to wait for the pictures.
