Oddworld: Fantasy of Sci-fi?

Do you think Oddworld more into the fantasy genre or sci-fi? I always thought of it as fantasy for some weird reason. Most people think "all aliens, totally different planet, super machines, it must be sci-fi", but my opinion is that Oddworld is more fantasy. There's magic/spirituality, which is a big check in fantasy. And I think that I always considered it fantasy because, as much as the inhabitants of Oddworld are strange and different, they never came across to me as 'alien'. Maybe it's because they deal with some of the same issues we deal with. But that's my opinion. What's yours?

Both. The boundary between the two genres is so blurred that the grey area is probably bigger than the 'totally Fantasy' and 'totally Sci-Fi' areas combined...

I don't believe in Genres, anyway...

Anyway, it is basically a Parody of Earth, and so if it had to fit into a genre, it would go under Fantasy, in the same way that Terry Pratchett's Discworld comes under Fantasy...

I think it's a blend of both. You have your flying ships, wierd trains, huge meat-processing factories, strange life forms, etcetera. But then on the other hand you have mystical themes with magic, a rhyming narrative, quirky life-forms and impossible physics.

I think it is Fantasy. I never saw the Oddworld characters as Alien. I could always relate to them in some twisted way.
