Post A Truly Great Writer

A Truly Great Writer

There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire to become a
great writer.

When asked to define great, he said, "I want to write stuff that the whole world
will read, stuff that people will react to on a truly emotional level, stuff
that will make them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!"

He now works for Microsoft writing error messages.

Hehe, reminds me of something else I heard... Someone told me that Japanese programmers have changed their error messages so you get a nice little haiku or something, even if it is the evil bluescreen... (although I suspect that was just an excuse to mess around...)

Here we go, found them...

A file that big?
It might be very useful.
But now it is gone.

Windows NT crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it is not working.
Windows is like that.
(I like this one.. )

First snow, then silence.
This thousand dollar screen dies
So beautifully.

With searching comes loss
And the presence of absence:
"My Novel" not found.

The Tao that is seen
Is not the true Tao-until
You bring fresh toner.

Three things are certain:
Death, taxes, and lost data.
Guess which has occurred.

Out of memory.
We wish to hold the whole sky,
But we never will.
(pretty...)

Having been erased,
The document you're seeking
Must now be retyped.

Serious error.
All shortcuts have disappeared.
Screen. Mind. Both are blank.

Okay, so I changed the subject. Sorry, Xinos...
