You have not gone in far enough. The part you talk of is a perfect example of the demo's that were out. The beginnings of the game are more of a tutorial section. I also would not care for the game if all were like the first section. But the game is much more than what the beginning shows. Go a little deeper, and you will find the real mystical Oddworld we all fell in love with. The teen or arcade feel of the beginning portions of the game dissapear ( Thankfully) into the real Game of Oddworld. The game has stuck to the roots but just with tons more of Eye candy and in 3D.
Play a bit longer, get beyond the "getting used to controls and learning area's" and you shall see the game we all hoped for, trust me, I have and am loving it.
All can breathe again, Munch is what we all hoped for and more. I am now in a area that is "VINTAGE" Oddworld. You shall see for yourselves soon enough. Very interesting puzzles already with all the eye candy one could ever want. I am milking the game for all it's worth, play a little at a time, and then get to other games so I can enjoy Oddworld for quite some time. I want it to last, it "IS" that good.
Brewmaster just give it time. Go further and there is nooooooooo way you can say this game has not stuck to it's roots. If you still believe so then that is your opinion, but one I cannot believe in or agrre with at all.
It's your first post here, and you come up with that! And you call yourself a hardcore Oddworld gamer, something sounds fishy. Maybe one that already has problems with the game and XBOX that wants to start some crap, if you ask me. If you were someone that has been here and has some credentials I would honor your opinion, that's the way you feel,so be it, your have your rights, but something is a miss here. I know a denial of this will come, but still that makes this none the less fishy.
