Vykkers Feet

Vykkers were originally tree dwelling creatures right? Well, to me at least, it dosn't seem like they have very good means of doing this (climbing trees). Their stumpy legs would probably be terrible for climbing as would be their scrawny little arms. I think that the stitches on the Vykkers legs are the result of them amputating their other arms. I think that their three "legs" used to be their primary limbs for climbing. But they were terrible for walking on flat ground. So (and pretend your a Vykker for a moment ) what is the obvious thing to do? Cut them off. I think that the Vykkers removed the rest of their "legs" because they simply were hard to walk on.
What do you guys think?

I don't know where I heard it from, but I always thought the Vykkers altered their anatomy to suit their needs. Such as huge heads to contain huge brains so they could be smarter, and they aren't muscl bound because they didn't think they'd ever need it. So it could be true

I read somewhere that Vykkers love pain. So this makes me think that they just wanted to cut there bottom half of there leg off because of the pain. Maybe they are like mentally ill. Now thats desturbing!

It is obvious that "something" occurred ... and by the looks of the stitches on their feet it is definately somethiing self-inflicted. I have also heard that Vykkers like to inflict pain on themselves, so tend to agree with Paramiteabe in the fact that they have deliberately done this to themselves. For what reason is unsure. It could be because they like pain. Or also because they find no "use" for their real feet and they might be seen to get in the way, they might cut them off.

Nup. You guys need to check the huge report on Vykkers in the universe section of the OWI site. It says even though Vykkers love to inflict pain through cruel experiments on other creatures, Vykkers themselves have a low tolerance to pain. I still reckon it's because they modified their bodies for practicality reasons, or maybe OWI designers thought it just looked cool, surgical, creepy and very Vykkerish.

if they were in slavery then their feet could have been cut off becase they had webbed feet allowing them to escape mudos (the island that the story is based on) to ensure no escape the question is that who is enslaving them and are they still doing it

Yup Xavier..is probably right!

Because look at his attatchment. The Vykker stubs are all sewed up. They probably could've been tree dwellers and forest walkers. That probably made it easy to go through a wood/forest/jungle. But they could have cut the off because it felt so much better walking like that on steel floors and such.

Thats probably why they only hunt for experament subjects in Vykker Pods. Like they did with Munch...

Here's a mildly interesting thought: maybe they just had insufferably smelly feet? If all those medications won't work, what options do you have other then to just lob the ghastly things off?

i dont think so CitezenKane... If it was of the smell, they could put plastc bags around them or sumthing. Plus smel dosent efect othe cemicals that way (i think)


Another theory. When someone said something abut vykkers walking in jungles easaly. i thought of them being really tall. What if they acualu are like 5-7 meters, like ickyish spiders with three legs. And if they would be slaves, they would probebly need to be shorter to fit in the other species...

Vykkers are hermaphrodites born fertile. So basically they are born able to give birth (or lay eggs for) a number of offspring. They have all the right equipment inside them to do this without having to mate. I have stickbugs from Australia that do the same thing although when they mate the number of ferile eggs increases drastically. Maybe Vykkers are the same.

Why would evolution not make every creature asexual? Not that I'm complaining.
