Lorne Lanning engadget interview - Soulstorm official unveiling pushed back?

The OWI Twitter just posted a link to this interesting article from Engadget, featuring an interview with Lanning, in which he mostly discusses his opinions on the changing state of the gaming industry. However, there is one paragraph in particular that stood out to me:

:
We were supposed to meet to chat about Soulstorm, a follow-up to 2014's Abe's Oddysee remake New 'n' Tasty. Sadly, we're stuck talking around that piece of news, as just a week before our meeting the decision was made to delay the formal unveiling of the game.
Now, in my head Soulstorm had already formally been "unveiled", with the announcement about it's existence months back. But if a week before E3 OWI decided to push back the "official unveiling", does that mean we were meant to see a trailer or some screenshots this week, or sometime soon? Perhaps it was meant to coincide with the completion of the ARG?

If Lorne was originally prepared to give Engadget juicy details up until the last minute, I'd hazard a guess that OWI wanted us to have seen something of the game at this point, but it's been pushed back. How long for, and why, who knows? Interesting nonetheless.

The article also lists New and Tasty as having sold 3 million copies, is that the first confirmation of a sales figure? Apologies if I'm wrong, but I don't think I've heard an actual figure prior to this interview.

Hm, disappointing that it wasn't ready to show off, but hopefully this is a short delay. I bet Eurogamer is a bit annoyed. Probably for the best if it wasn't 100% ready to show off

I think they will show something at gamescom, but I hope they tease us with some images of the game before then.

Very strange, since the talk around E3 was that they were ahead of where they thought they were going to be at this point.

Exactly what I was thinking. Perhaps they're so far ahead they thought that if they waited a little while longer they could show off even better content than they had originally planned to.

Yeah this really surprised me. Its great that Lorne is learning the imporance of listening/connecting to the fans and all and I hope to see more examples of that from owi in the future. However I was looking forward to hear something more about Soulstorm's progress in that post.

But pushed back? Wth
Wonder what happened there.

Perhaps they expected them to have completed the ARG by now...
Have we disappointed them?

Nah, I believe you guys were way quicker with the ARG than they anticipated.
Theres more factors than that to take into account for a game development team :P

Eh, the fact that they gave us clues via eds twitter when we were stuck makes me believe that the ARG is progressing around their planned pace

I agree with HOMINIX, Ed obviously had a timeline, helping us when we were stuck to speed progress and letting us wait when we were too fast.
