I've been a stalker here for a long while and decided to finally sign up seeing as I felt I had something worthwhile and "Odd" to contribute for Oddworld fans.
I just recently uploaded my review on New 'n' Tasty. It's a bit more balanced than the well known Matthewmatosis' review (though it's what inspired me to do this). But doesn't pull the occasional punch when necessary (unlike big reviewers like IGN that largely praise things).
I made it to try and perhaps give those that have decided to boycott the game due to that review a more balanced approach.
I myself was also originally strongly against the game too due to his review, and while I do agree with many of his less pedantic points, have since come around to liking the game since playing it firsthand.
So felt it was worth shouting about to get more people playing New 'n' Tasty, heh.
I wasn't sure whether to put this in the "Spoiler Forum" or here. I don't think my review really contains any spoilers, but if a moderator disagrees, I'd be happy to have my thread moved there.
I think this should have it's own thread though, it is a large scale review.
I'm going to give it a watch now and I'll post my thoughts afterwards. Looking great so far, though!
Yeah, I enjoyed that, and I agree with pretty much every point you made, though I personally would've spoken more about the tone of the game and how it resembles (or more appropriately doesn't resemble) the original. Nevertheless, that was a well-written review, good job. 10/train.

Yeah. I suppose I wanted to focus more on reviewing it more-so on it's own merits as a standalone title where I could, and only really compared the games when I felt a feature was lacking or better in comparison with the original.
Mainly because I wanted to avoid being another Matthewmatosis video. I think most everything that wasn't as good or suffered in some small way was pointed out at length in his video, and that there are plenty of online comments explaining what could have been more faithful in some areas.

Im like the only person who hasnt watched th Infamous MathewMatosis review. Anything I should know about it?
That it's mostly right if not for some specific or more pedantic opinions (though he says that in the video).
The downside being that given it focuses on the negative, while fairly accurate, it makes the game seem much worse than it is for someone who hasn't played the game firsthand.
I said it on reddit, and I'm saying it again. Your review is the most balanced review of the game I've seen. It points out the problems it has while not coming off as complainy, and it manages to praise it without implying it's perfect.
Over all, you did a great job, and I agree with most of your points.
