Would it make things worse if I pointed out that I have now outlived the entire lifecycle of any periodical cicada?

Cheers guys. Going down to WOMAD in a few minutes. I woke up at 8:30 this morning after getting in to bed at 1am, just so that I could get some decent flute practice in before I went out. I probably won't be home for another 12 hours, so thanks in advance for all of the lovely things I'm sure you're going to say about me.

I heard Parks live on my birthday last year. He finished with that song, just playing piano and leaving an orchestra sitting behind him. It was breathtaking hearing it for the first time, and so powerful after all of the heavy orchestration from the rest of the concert. Such an amazing way to finish.

I've been slowly transcribing that for about half a year now. I've kind of given up at this point, but one day I'm sure I'll get there.
