I’m not saying it was bad, but I felt like it lacked the charm and uniqueness that Pixar films usually have.

I thought it had plenty of charm, and was unique in that it had no antagonist, so did not follow the same formula that every other children's movie follows.

I'm a little reticent about Ratatouille though. The concept just doesn't really grab me.
If you forget that Ratatouille is a Pixar movie and just watch it as a generic CG kid's film, it's quite enjoyable. It's not a bad film; it just doesn't stack up with the best of their work.

watched a shit load of Cracker, a british crime detective series from the psychologist/psychiatrist point of veiw (can't remember which). it's Robbie Coltrane and a few others including a young Christopher Eccleston. from what i remember his acting was terrible, so wooden you could peel the bark off and start a fire.

I put off watching Ratatouille for the longest time due to the same reason you mentioned. Really enjoyed it when I finally did watch it. The concept does sound a little bit cheesy but it's actually quite well done, plus the animation is gorgeous all throughout. Lots of strong side characters, too.

Toy Story 3 is probably my favourite Pixar film overall. Honestly, it's perfect. I have never as satisfied leaving a movie theater as I did after I saw that one. Then again, I don't watch that many movies.

On the other hand, if you find the concept of Ratatouille gross, it's pretty difficult to support the protaganists.

MOD EDIT: Split the second half of this post off to this new thread.

I've just watched the new episode of Breaking Bad.

It was awesome. I find it unbelievable how amazing this show still is. Can't wait for more. Really. Give it to me now!

ps: it's not really a spoiler

BB is a great show!

I've just watched Sinister and that film gave me the creeps. especially the one scene in the pool, when I saw that thing in the water, my heart sank to my pants.
now I still have this one restless night before me + I live in an old building and my toilette is outside my apartement; so every time I go to the toilette, I need to step out and advance through the darkness (lightswitch is too far away)
I see the demon in every shadow, looking at me...

Breaking Bad is on this massive list of things I need to get around to watching somewhere down the line. I only ever hear positive things about it. Hmm.

Caught up on Venture Bros. since I keep seeing it mentioned here and there and I haven't watched it since about mid-season 3. The character development in this show is fucking incredible what the heck

been watching The Mill, period drama series set in a cotton mill back in ye olde englande. i like it but the usual love story is fucking there. again. it's not too bad if they don't drag it out forever but too much romance bollocks can ruin it for me. i just get bored. that's the problem with most period drama things; the overly-romanticised view of that era, like looking through rose-tinted glasses in a way.

I also watched the new Breaking Bad episode. It was ace, I loved the beginning. Also the final scene, goddamn, when Hank shut the garage door I knew shit was going to go down.

I couldn't get into Aku no Hana. I watched it because one of my friend sent it to me, telling me that they heard it was really fucked up. Every set up was really awkward and it was hard for me to watch, and I wasn't even interested to see what happens next until the end of episode 7. But, by the time I got there I discovered the next handful of episodes hadn't aired yet, and I didn't have the patience to wait so I just forgot about it.

The ending theme is great though.

Also, I like that they chose to rotoscope the entire series instead of sticking with the manga's style. It definitely added onto the uneasiness of watching it.

No, because anime discussion pops up briefly once in a blue moon to be excised into its own thread and die because anime on this forum is never a self sustaining discussion, rather it's always a small branch of a larger one.

What I'm saying is just sit tight and stick your head up your arse until the nasty child raping Japs are gone. I'll be very surprised if this discussion continues further.

thank god the baby-eating Japs have gone, now i can talk some more about the brilliance of Shaun Of The Dead! and Spaced!

also The Fear. Peter Mullan (again) as a crimeboss suffering with dementia. 4 episodes, i really liked it, but the end i thought was a little anticlimactic. good music too. it's on 4oD.

I saw Alan Partridge. It was the first time in years that I've been to the cinema. Moderately funny throughout with two or three instances of my almost pissing myself.
