I'm pretty sure it's not based around combat though, it's more built around surviving than fighting zombies. Like your classic survival horror.

I could be totally wrong though. Haven't actually played it.
You're totally wrong. It's a combat-oriented game with very very very repetitive melee fighting. If you like the atmosphere, go for it, but get used to killing zombies with a cricket bat and tapping the screen everytime you want to open a manhole cover.

I definitely people shouldn't jump into this and think it's just like Walking Dead (if you're after an isometric version of that try Project Zomboid instead). But from what I hear, it's got mixed reviews.

The PS Vita sounds okay, but so far it's had two terrible versions of Resistance and Call of Duty (maybe FPS games dont work on a handheld?) and a version of Assassins Creed III without proper multiplayer. But hopefully they will improve it in future.

Things about Primordia:

The main character is the guy from Bastion.
Everyone is a robot.
Extinct humans are the new God. "Praise Man", "Man alone knows" etc.
BSOD is a swearword. "They took our power core! B'sod!"
It looks really pretty.
It's more fun than Gemini Rue.

Playing Abe's Oddysee again.

Bats are cunts. I almost forgot. They are simply the most infuriating, obnoxious, selfish pricks ever to claim the skies in a 2D platformer.

I hate them.

Got my self a boxed copy of Zelda: A Link To The Past and I've been playing every so often. I only played it before on a emulator and playing on it's original console is much, much better.

I've got up to the third medallion to get the Master Sword and so far it's been pretty easy, I've been trying to find all the heart pieces and items before I venture any further cause once you get to the dark world, that's when things get tough.

Without a doubt, It's got to be my favourite Super Nintendo game and one of the best Zelda games.

I died over six hundred times in Link to the Past, and 103 times in the Ice Palace alone.

Now that was fun.

Dungeon Keeper. As good today as it always was. Especially now I've got a widescreen mod.

"We have developed this area. It now serves as a breeding ground for our leigons of Beetles and Flies. To think it was once pointless farmland."

"The citizens here enjoyed each others' company so much, that we've decided to let them stay together forever. We've thrown them all into a big pit, and piled thousands of rocks on top of them."

"We've made an enormous magic carpet out of the thousands of verminous bunnies that flocked to the area."

Just started playing VVVVVV. I quite like the gameplay, but my fingers are far too fat and slow for this game. I hate games where the timing must be absolutely perfect.

Still going to keep playing though.

VVVVVV is great because there are so many checkpoints that it doesn't matter. The timetrials still let you push yourself to be hardcore if you really want, too.

Good luck clearing the Veni, Vidi, Vici run at any rate. It took me a good few weeks of practice until I could finally do it.

Jeez. Now you're getting me worried. I just rage-quit because I got stuck on the bottom path of the 'Plain Sailing From Here On' screen. Which is apparently a hell of a lot harder than the top path.

I'll pick it up tomorrow and try to backtrack.

I actually found Veni, Vidi, Vici fairly easy. In fact, I didn't find out that it was an infamous challenge until a couple of months later.

I guess that's dumb luck for you.

My Far Cry 3 arrived today so I played a couple of hours of it. There are so many side-quests and objectives to do I'm not even sure where I'm supposed to go. I hope to see much, much more of Vaas, I already love and hate that character. I also did the first co-op mission with a friend, it was okay but the meat of the game is definitely the singleplayer mode.

Naturally some people just pick that kind of thing up really quickly for some reason.

It wasn't the hardest trinket, though, and it definitely wasn't as hard as I expected after playing Super Meat Boy!. Prize for the Reckless took me much longer to get, but I wasn't going to spoil that one for him.

Whatever the pink screen with like six floors and tiny gaps with red things flying through all of them was, that was the hardest.

I do recommend it if you want a beautiful open world to explore and plenty of optional stuff to do. Only bad thing I've heard pretty much is that when you beat the game and clear all of the enemy outposts, there really just aren't any human enemies left. That sounds kinda strange.

The developers themselves said that the characters are supposed to be typical spoiled brats and douchebags at first but as you play the game and get to see them suffer and barely survive in the jungle, you start to adapt to them.

Don't really know yet if that's the case as I'm pretty early on in the game story-wise, but they don't seem too interesting to me. It's weird that the main character, Jason, is unexperienced in pretty much everything yet he can master a gun at the first second he uses one.

A game about the guy who, thrust into a dangerous situation, picks up a weapon to defend himself and can't figure out how to use it would be very short and not very interesting. Can't fault the originality, though.

Well yeah, but it's weird how there's like absolutely no recoil while he's firing a light machine gun. Also, I'm now desperately trying to escort this guy called Rongo through a pirate-ridden village just so I can get some information for a guy who MIGHT know something about my friend's location. Great.

So I've put about 11 hours into The Binding of Isaac, and I have to say it's probably one of the most addictive games I've ever played. It's so heart-breaking when you die and you've collected so many awesome power-ups, but it just makes me want to start again, STRAIGHT AWAY! Dammit. Definitely worth it though.

Got to agree on TBoI, I have played it quite a bit some months ago. Apart from all the different powerups and random items you can find, I also like the pacing and the fact that beating the game once doesn't mean you've seen all the game has to offer. Stuff gradually becomes more challenging and creepy.

What I've been playing recently is Killing Floor with friends, which is quite fun, and I also tried LOTR: War in the North in co-op with said friends. Game is a tad glitchy here and there, but the combat is OK and they have managed to create a rather neat story that doesn't cover the main plot of the books (mostly just making references to it, and you do meet the Fellowship in Rivendell at one point), so it provides you with a new side plot that fits well with everything else.

Started playing VVVVVV after seeing a few of you guys talking about it. Really fun game, the puzzles are very creative and the checkpoints are so plenty that you don't really feel bad for dying.

It can still be quite frustrating, though. But that's part of the charm of these games.

Playing Abe's Oddysee again.

Bats are cunts. I almost forgot. They are simply the most infuriating, obnoxious, selfish pricks ever to claim the skies in a 2D platformer.

I hate them.
It's funny how bats are so horrible in most games, like Terraria. Strangely enough the Minecraft bats are friendly and make nice little squeaking noises.

Far Cry 3 seems really popular, I like the look of Dishonoured too. It makes me want to play Thief and Hitman.

Smashed through some more TBoI, I'm finally getting better at it. I've managed to get to chapter 5. Massive shame all my power-ups and shit have to be reset so I can get back to where I was.
