Howdy!
Well, I guess this is the place for presentations.
Howdy! I'm Haruka, I am 20 years old and I live in Portugal.
I'm an Oddworld fan for a decade. I met the series at my 10 years old, thanks to an ex-neighbour that was trying out Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee's demo. At first I got a little visually shocked with the ways that Abe could die, but as long as I continued to observe the gameplay, I was interested in the unique gameplay mechanics (Gamespeak, Slig body possession, choosing the destiny of Abe...) and really cool imaginary art behind the characters and backgrounds. Later I started playing the full version for PS1 from the same ex-neighbour, I became a fan. At that same moment I started to appreciate its humour and the story. I managed to get the good ending with the great majority of Mudokons rescued, but I only got after the 99 Mudokons thanks a guide. It made me notice that the game did had secret areas that weren't really easy to figure out alone at first.
An year later I tried out Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, and it is so far my favourite game of the quadrilogy. Much improvements were done when comparing to the previous game, and the Quick Save is a life (and time!) saviour! Saved also the great majority of the Mudokons, and managed after the 300 thanks to a guide.
While my hopes were lost in finding someone owning an Xbox (I only played in one once in my life), last year thanks to the release of the Oddboxx, I managed to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee for the first time. I liked the game, although it is weaker than Exoddus. Its kinda difficult from all sudden trying to explain "what went wrong". I managed to get 97% Quarma. I guess those missing 3% were the warriors that got accidentally killed in mines (while I thought the Quarma only applicated to the Mudokon workers).
Recently, I've been playing for the first time Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath (HD)... in PS3. Not on PC because I own an ATi graphic card and I'm experiencing a ridiculous lag on the game, and patches still didn't fix it. I was with fear I wouldn't like the 4th game because of footage I've watched previously (I was really believing it has a TF2 structure), but I was completely wrong after playing 1 hour: its surprisingly good and not really what I was thinking at first. I like the concept of "Modern western landscape", "Litteral-Sheriff VS Outlaws" and "Hunting from fauna-ammo". I still didn't finish the game but I think I'm close to reach Sekto.
I own the Oddboxx for PC (STEAM), the original PS1 games of Oddworld, and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD for PS3. I might consider getting the GBC and GBA games but I'm not quite sure about their quality (Any suggestions?). I admit I watched on YouTube the first GBC game and it is ridiculously short. I also want to get someday the art book of the series in hard cover (Damn, the very limited edition isn't for every wallet!). I want to get Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD for PS3 when it gets released.
I'm very excited for the Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee HD (New 'N' Tasty!), I got amazed by the pre-alpha footage I watched on YouTube. I'll try to get it on release!
Resuming, Oddworld is one of my favourite game series and Abe's Exoddus is one of the best 2D games I've ever had the pleasure to play. My favourite gaming genre is Platforming. My two main favourite games (it is really difficult to just name one) are Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and Rayman 2: The Great Escape. I'm a big fan from both Croc and Rayman game series. I also like the game series of Mario, Worms, Portal, Pokémon and SPORE.
My interests are around gaming, technology and Arts (I'm an Art Student by the way).
Phew, I hope it isn't quite disturbing to have made such a big intro ^^'.
I hope I get along with people around here.
