XBox is too expensive in germany

I finally saw the XBox at the TV, because It will be released tomorrow. But I was shocked when they said the price of it, it costs 500,00 € here which is equivalent to 1000 DM.
The PS2 costs 299,00 € here, that's vastly cheaper than the XBox.

I won't buy it tomorrow, I better wait some weeks because I don't want to queue

In belgium its expencive too
PS2: 12 000 bf
Xbox: 20 000 bf

Was that a bundle? Some XBOXs in the US were sold in a package with 2 or 3 games and an extra controller, which of course made them cost a lot more than PS2, but the XBOX alone costs exactly the same as PS2 (US $299). Maybe they're just trying to cash in on the anticipation and the price will go down in a few weeks. Also, it only took a couple weeks here for the initial waiting-in-line frenzy to calm down.

A little off there Doug...when it came out here in the US of A it was $399 (I know...cause that's how much I paid for mine), then later they dropped the price by $100.

Like, you must have got it at like a non retail price of something, I got mine first day, 300$, and so was everyone elses, price tag at like Wall Mart and Target and Toys R Us, it was 300$.......

I have both the PS2 and X-Box.
Personally I like the PS2 better...

My Xbox was purchased on the first day of release and was $300 US without a bundle. I did hear that "some" retailers were charging more than this due to the high demand of the systems on launch day.

All consoles however are more expensive when they come out. The Xbox in Australia is $650 which is cheaper than the PS2 when it first came out here. The PS2 was over $700 when it was released. Of course it has dropped in price now, because it has been out for almost a year and a half.

In Finland Xbox costs 530 euros and that's just the consol. The controllers cost 50 euros and the games are about 75e...

Who would like to donate 655 euros?

Eek!! I wouldn't agree with that huge price! The XBox costs 500€, one controller 39,99€, Memory Card 49,99€, RGB Scard Cable 29,99€ and Munch's Oddysee costs 69,99€...boy, how expensive

Well, the prices in here are what I said earlier. And they're just too expencive! *grrrr* I have to wait and hope they'll get cheaper...

*hmmm* I'm going to Austria next week. Maybe they'll be cheaper there!
