Hi. It's been awhile since I did a fic. Also, I was inspired by the wierdest thing: my U.S. History class! Here it is.

It has been a long time since the war between Scrabania and Mudanchee started. It has been so long, in fact, that no one remembers what they were fighting for. Was it a dispute over which breeding ground was better? which inhabitants are stronger? The fighters don't know. They just go on killing each other, without a clue as to why. It is the first time, not counting before the Glukkons and Sligs became industrialized, that Scrabs have teamed up for a common cause. That cause, however, is a civil war between the two Scrab nesting/breeding grounds. All breeds of Scrab are united. Among them are the common Scrab (which we all know from the games), the AquaScrab, the Arctic Scrab, and another breed. This other breed is not very well-known, but they fight, too. They are the night duty. They are the NoctoScrabs, graceful rulers of the night forest.

Carobrite walked slowly among the Scrab bodies. One Scrab's legs had been torn off in battle. Another Scrab's severed head still had the shaman head wear; a Scrab trying to save lives had his or her own life taken. Carobrite wasn't on duty; in fact, nobody was. It was that time between the afternoon and night, the time when everyone was asleep. She made sure to sneak behind the mud and clay shelters, so as to avoid being caught by the embalmer Scrabs. Carobrite knew that they wouldn't reach the area she was in until she was miles away. This time period was the safest time for the embalmer Scrabs to work, since no one is awake to mistake them for the enemy. Carobrite safely sneaked into the woods, where she took a sharp turn and came across a line of Paramites. "Wait!" they all chirped. "What's the password?" To any other Scrab, it would sound like mindless chattering. However, Carobrite had studied the language of Paramites. "No Evil Coward Rallies Upset Mudokons," Carobrite chirped back. The line of Paramites parted, and Carobrite stepped through. A handsome black Arctic Scrab stood waiting for her. "Are you sure you want to do this? If we get caught..." he trailed off. "Daknar, don't give me a choice," Carobrite said. "I'm sick of this war. Remember, we studied the language of every species on Oddworld, so we can communicate with anyone." "Okay, okay," Daknar replied. "Let's just get out of here before the commanding officer notices that we're missing." "You mean our commanding officers, right?" Carobrite said. She was lucky to have found someone on the other side who hated the war as much as she did.

Well, that's all I can think of for now.

Hmm... very interesting. Even though it's just a few beginning paragraphs, I think it has potential. Keep it up!

Thank you, Black Dragon. Just a question: Did anybody figure out the password's "secret"? I'm serious. There's something hidden in the password. Oh, well. Back to the fic.

The two Scrabs plunged deeper into the woods. Suddenly, there was a squeaking sound from under Daknar's feet. "What the-" he asked no one in particular. "Slurgs!" Carobrite shouted. "But that means..." plop. plop. "Fleeches!" both Scrabs shouted at once. Three sharp, pink tongues coiled themselves around Carobrite's feet and legs. She toppled to the ground from the force acting on her legs. As she was being dragged, Carobrite tried to use her lower jaw to get traction on the ground, but it was no use. Daknar rushed past her and into a bush. There were sounds of a struggle, then Daknar came out of the bushes, Fleech blood dripping from his mouth. Carobrite stood up. Her legs were lacerated, but it wasn't serious. It would heal. plop. plop. "More!" Daknar yelled. This time, the tongues were whipping at Daknar. He howled, and started spinning in a tornado of raven-black fur, destroying the Fleeches. plop, polp, plop, plop, plop. "There's too many!" Carobrite warned Daknar. "You're right," he replied, "we have to run!" The two ran as fast as all four legs could carry them. They reached an old concrete building with a rotting wood door. Carobrite kicked the door in with both right legs, then they both ran inside. The room they were in had the awful stench of rotting meat. Ignoring the smell, the Scrabs wandered on. Suddenly, they heard a voice in the language shared by the Sligs, Mudokons, and Glukkons. "Who's there?" it said. "Whoever you are, help me!" it shouted. The two Scrabs walked toward the direction of the voice.

Ack! Brain-dead! Oh, well. End of part two.

Yes, I saw the password. Certain place where the dead are laid to rest, methinks. *wonders whether they're going there, or something...*

Nicely done so far (and you don't have to spend an hour deciphering it, wow...)

Yes, Teal, you're right. First letter of each word. And, whether they're going there or not, I haven't decided. Maybe they will.

As the Scrabs ventured on, the voice became clearer and more defined. It was almost a high tenor voice, with several feminine characteristics. Finally, they came across a badly beaten rose-pink colored Glukkon. She was hanging upside down by her hands, with her legs tied tightly against her back. Her blue eyes reflected an expression of fatigue and pain. Upon hearing the Scrab's footsteps, she called weakly, "Help me. Get me down." Carobrite slowly wandered in a circle around the Glukkon, looking for a solution that would free her without injuring her. Daknar inspected an old, rusty control panel. All of the levers and buttons were rusted into place. He turned back, and said "Look, just cut her free! She's already injured enough." Carobrite took a few paces backward, charged, and jumped. Her nails cut through the rope binding the Glukkon to the ceiling. Daknar came over and cut the leg-rope using his teeth. The Glukkon shakily stood up and looked at the Scrabs. After about a minute of silence, Carobrite said, in the Gluk/Mud/Gabbit/Slig language (which I'll call "Oddworldish") "Who are you? Why are you here?" Daknar added, "And most importantly, where is 'here'?" The Glukkon waited before responding. "My name is Casella. I was found freeing Mudokon slaves. I was captured, kept, and tortured here, at the old RuptureFarms. I guess talking Scrabs are better than dying of starvation," she added quickly. The sound of mechanical pants reached them all at the same time. "Uh oh," Casella said, her voice becoming just above a whisper. "Come on!" Carobrite shouted. The three started running, Casella running clumsily at first, but she sped up as the survival instinct and her adrenaline started functioning at the same time. They ran through an open door, and outside. However, this wasn't the path leading back to the forest. The Slig pants were closer, now. "Oh, no," Casella moaned, "what are we going to do now?"

NOOOO!!!! Stupid writer's block!!!!! *sighs*

Okay, I got the next part ready.

The Sligs closed in around them, and there was no way out. There was only one action that could be taken in this situation: fight. The two Scrabs used their Shred Attack, while Casella grabbed one Slig's pants leg and pulled him off balance. Standing awkwardly on one hand, she punched another Slig and took his gun. She turned it around, and hit him on the back of the head with it, knocking him unconcious(sp). Finally, all the Sligs were either dead or injured. They continued walking until they reached a fence. Carobrite tested its stability, and it obviously wasn't very stable, because it fell over during the test. The three walked out of the RuptureFarms land plot, and soon they came to a newer industrial building. It was a Glukkon suit designing business, and the Mudokon slave rule was no exception here. "Casella," Daknar said, "why are we here?" Casella responded, "We're going to free as many slaves as we can." Casella put on a standard Glukkon suit, and stuffed her hands into shoes. Then, she walked inside the building. She later came out with about seventy two Mudokons, Sligs, and low-ranking Glukkons; all of which either wanted to be freed or hated their jobs. "Come on," Casella instructed the group. "Mudokons, put these on and try to look as sad or angry as possible," Casella said, holding up a chain of shackles. The large group moved in a line, looking just like slaves and slave traders. Carobrite and Daknar moved in the forest, out of sight. They all stopped when a Slig on guard duty suddenly said, "Wait a minute! What are you doing?"

That's it for now.

Um... Er... Thanks, Gabbit. Um, well... I'm sorry if this chapter sucks.

Casella stared at the Slig, then she spoke in her most authorative tone. "Why, we're slaves and slave traders going to the auctions, of course." The Slig seemed to ponder this for a second, then he replied, "Oh.... oh, okay... carry on..." Casella walked on, with the Mudokons, Sligs, and Glukkons following. They walked into the woods, and they soon came across what looked like an ordinary industrial building, and Casella walked up to the door. She motioned for one of the Sligs to knock on the door. A Slig voice answered the knock. "Who's there?"
"Slave traders," Casella answered the Slig. They heard the Slig call, presumably over his shoulder, "Hey, Boss! It's slave traders!" Then, from far inside the building, "What kind of slaves are we talking about here?" The Slig repeated it to Casella. Casella responded "Are you interested in slaves trained in the RuptureFarms Agricultural Department?" They then heard the Slig repeat it, followed by a Glukkon voice, much closer now, "RuptureFarms Agricultural?"
"Yeah," Casella said.
"How much money?"
"About seventy one units each."
"Well, come on in, and let's talk business." Casella smiled, knowing that her mate's days as a high-ranking executive had served him well. Then the door opened.

ACK! Nooooo!!!!! I HATE writer's block!!!!!!!!!!!

An ordinary brown Glukkon stood there, two Mudokons and a Slig standing behind him. Casella and the group walked in, followed by Carobrite and Daknar. The brown Glukkon stared nervously at the Scrabs, then decided to help the Mudokons out of their shackles. He walked over and sat down, using his legs to steady himself while he used his hands to undo the chains. The Slig helped Casella out of her suit. Then, the brown Glukkon looked up and saw the series of small scars covering Casella's body. "Casella!" he gasped, "What happened?" His face took on a worried look, and he walked over to Casella and placed his hand on her arm. "I was captured," Casella replied. "These Scrabs freed me." She gestured to Carobrite and Daknar. "And to think that I once thought nothing of carving them up for food," the male Glukkon said sadly while hanging his head. Carobrite and Daknar looked at each other, then trotted over to the Glukkon. "Um, hi, I'm Carobrite."
"And I'm called Daknar."
"Oh! How rude of me!" the Glukkon said with a laugh. "I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Molluck, and this," he pointed to the tatooed Mudokon to his left, "is Abe."
"Uh, hi," Abe said hesitantly.
"I don't want to give my name, so you can just call me Bigface," said the Mudokon wearing a tear-shaped mask. Then, the Slig spoke up. "I'm named Dunmore. I accidentally stumbled across this 'disguised paradise' and decided that it was much better than my job, so I started living here."
"Wait a minute," one of the Mudokons said, "what do you mean by 'disguised paradise'?" At this, Molluck grinned, and said, "I'll show you." He walked over to a door, and opened it to reveal the most beautiful place they had ever seen. One thing still puzzled them, though. Even though there was a roof over their heads, the sunlight still shone as brightly as it had outside.
"How..." one of the Glukkons started.

*growls* I'm SICK of this writer's block!!!!!!!!
