The point being that drug addiction isn't a personal freedom, it's an addiction.
If I saw a friend of mine suffering from drug addiction I wouldn't sit idly by and doing nothing, then later tell him 'Oh sorry I wasn't aware you were suffering. I was respecting your autonomy.'
That's just an excuse to do nothing. Addiction is never a freedom.

If someone wants to be addicted, they have the right to be addicted.
Cigarette smokers have the right to be addicted too.
But that's not what I was saying anyway. I dont get why everytime someone mentions freedom + drugs it has to be about addiction and 'oh no'.
Plenty of drugs aren't addictive. Not all drugs are heroin.
And as I said, if the person asks for help, they should have it. The population should receive proper education about sensitive matters such as these, and there should be plenty of way to get help and stuff.
I wouldn't just sit idly by and not help someone if they had an addiction either. But you can't force someone to stop something unless it hurts others.
