I've been working on a casual runthrough of AO for the last year at least. I'm just at the Stockyard Return. My problem is that each time I want to play it I end up playing Rayman instead because I'm determined to finish it.
AE took me about 10 hour a few years ago, so I could probably do better now.
Got it on my birthday 2005, on that day I got up to the part where the Grubbs give you the boat. Then my mum moaned at me and said that I should stop playing it because I had been on it all day. Next day I completed it, after tearing my hair out trying to figure how to defeat Sekto.

Can't remember how long my first 300 muds run of AE took to complete, but I remember getting really bored of it when I reached Zulag 1 of the Brewery so I put my playthrough on hold for a while, but I did eventually rescue all 300.

I've never played *all* the way through the games.
sometimes I've gotten bored and level skipped but I've never sat down and completely finished them.
I know, I know, boo and hiss all you want.
I remember playing trough AE in about 6 hours and that was with about 289 muds saved. I've played AE like 8 times already though so I know every hidey hole and tactic there is.
I've completed Abe's Oddysee in under a day, but with 98 mudokons thanks to my tendency to be careless! Considering that was back in about 1999-2000 when I wasn't a huge internet user i'm pretty proud of my achievement. I've also completed Abe's Exoddus with all 300 mudokons in about 2 days, but this was more recent so I was aided by my knowledge of secret area's and such. I've only ever fully played munch through once back when it came out so that was some ungodly time like a month and Stranger's wrath the same. I hope to rectify this when the HD version's see the light of day on PS3 though!
If I really devote myself, I can beat Exoddus in just a few days. Probably the same for Munch, but it can be hard to get into, especially when you're playing it on the 360. I'd say Oddysee, too, if I had the patience, which I don't.

I'm tempted now to try and do a 99 mudokon run in 1 day. I think doing a 300 mudokon run in a day would kill me. I never managed to rescue everything in Munch's Oddysee, unsure why but I just didn't feel like doing it.
Here's a challenge for you Connell, beat this!

Over a period of 2 hours 14 minutes spread over a few days, I completed AO with enough mudokons to get the good ending, around 70 I think. AE took marginally longer, the best I managed was probably getting on for the 3 hour mark. That's probably with about 200+ mudokons saved.

That's one way to glitch your way trough the game.
