In the last chapter of The World in 10½ Chapters there's the account of a guy who goes to Heaven. To be Scary Door about it, turns out everybody eventually chooses to die permanently. They've done everything - met every person who ever lived, read every book ever written, eaten every food, watched every movie etc. - and death is all that's left to try.
To be honest, when I've done everything I could die happy. I'd rather just stay alive forever and be around for when the planet blows up though. Either that or see the human race scatter across the galaxy. It really sucks that I won't be able to see either one!

There is hope for this one. My friend, there is never anything wrong with wanting to be more knowledgeable.
unfortunately I know alot of christens who would avoid learning about anything that doesn't fit there beliefs, which makes me realize something, I've only ever heard 3 points of view, LDS, christen and atheist. And here I am claiming to have made an informed decision when theres hundreds of other religions out there, maybe one day I should actually go to the services of the other religions so I can actually make an informed decision instead of a limited one, but after I move out of my parents so I don't get questiond as to why I'm going to other churches, as far as they know I'm a full blown, bibles perfect christen

I noticed the fiction of H.P Lovecraft is taken very seriously by it's overzealous followers, despite the fact, it was intended to be a story.

The Bible is the same thing.

That's bullshit. It's much more accurate to say the Old Testament is fables followed by over-romanticized history whilst the New Testament is a ragtag collection of the world's most contradictory eyewitness acounts followed by a lot of diplomatic letters, then finishing with a really weird drug trip.

Don't use the Dark Lord's name in vain. Abdul Alhazred is the prophet of truth, you just aren't enlightened.

But really. Which overzealous followers would those be? The ones in that one South Park episode with the cultists? 'Cause I've never seen someone who genuinely worships the Elder Gods or what have you.

There are joke followers, atheists or agnostics who have a sense of humour about the subject of religion. There aren't any true followers though. The books haven't been around for long enough and we still know that the writer wrote speculative/ occult fiction.

This is definitely not a mere fansite.

My recommendation is to wait until at least seven months have transpired before performing the anointing ritual.
Completely serious.

Are you assuming a cult has to be violent or macabre to be...well, a cult?

Given the nature of the C'thulu Mythos, in this case...yes. I want to see flayed skins and tortured souls God'ammit.

Well, do it yourself. I'm not on good terms with Cthulhu right now after I left him sitting outside a kebab shop at 5am.

The title of the webpage pretty much confirms it as satire.

Oh, come on! Like you could've thought of a better URL name.

At least it gets straight to the point of what it's about.
