This is like, really amazing that they are bringing out all the old games out in HD..and a new game..especially that its in RTS form, this will be epic, i did look on the official website and it said there will be 2 main factions: The Land Muggers (Industrials) and The Tree Huggers (Mudokons) etc

Aren't those titles from a large character poster with all native and industrial characters on it? Not sure if it was a Hand of Odd poster but I do remember those exact names.

From the crappy Oddworld wiki, but still. I think they are nifty titles, I could see JAW using them as faction names.

This is the first time I have seen those poster images, and I've gotta say I much prefer the Big Bro slig design there to the one used in MO.

Maybe it's just me, but I find it a little hard to see any close resemblance between the sligs and MO Big Bro. I know they have the same features and colours and whatnot, but If I had to put my finger on something, I'd say it's the eyes- normal sligs look to have eyes on the sides of their heads, whereas the Big Bro mask gave the impression they were forward-facing?

On this poster however, with the mask the same as a regular slig, it just feels more to me like an evolution of that character/species. For some reason, I always felt the MO Big Bro's were a bit too different, to the point where they didn't look like they could be the same creature anymore!

It was never an evolution in the species- Big Bro's were simply Sligs on steroids. And that being the case, I think Big Bros would be concerned about other body parts than their eyes...

I always saw the big-bros as a play on the stereotyped cartoon body-builder with exaggerated limbs and small head.

Ah, my mistake, I'm with you now. Being younger when I first played MO, I was more interested in the HUGE guns I got to play with to really focus on how they compared to normal sligs :P

We don't yet know whether Abe HD is going to be AOHD, AEHD, a possible combination of AO and AE, or a new game entirely. Best not to jump to conclusions.
