2008 trailer (they were too hopeful with the 2009 release date):
Basically it's a free, fan-made remake of Half-Life 1 that's been in production for the past 6 years, and I've been keeping an eye on it for just as long. According to this article on Atomic, in August 2010 the game was "more or less complete - albeit with lots of tweaking to go - right up to the Xen levels". The website has updated recently (last week) with new imagery, and according to one of the developers on the forums, they aim to finally release this source mod 2 weeks after the soundtrack goes gold - And the soundtrack went gold last week. So I'm speculating that it'll probably be out within the next 2 or 3 months, although nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
Would be cool when they finally release this. Must be one of the largest fan made remakes anyone has ever done, and they are doing a VERY awesome job on it. The detail they put into the environment is stunning, especially when you compare it to the original levels.
Oh whoops - I couldn't remember that far back. I did try to do a search but even advanced search just sits there for ages for me.
I misread their forum topic before I posted this and their forums were down so I couldn't re-check. The soundtrack is finished according to the guy working on it (weird use of "gone gold" though considering it's not out yet or being sold, let alone sold any specific number of copies) - And it's been officially confirmed by the lead developer that the mod will be released 2 weeks after the soundtrack.
So the soundtrack is merely finished, but not yet released. I wonder how much longer they're going to take? Only time will tell I suppose.
